I don`t think anyone has been saying that Brown should shut up. Most people seem to think that he should be saying more.I think Mandelson should shut up for his own sake as I think he is now damaging his own reputation by being so personal. His hopes of getting back into government are fading by the day it seems. Which in my opinion is no bad thing.

The problem for the government is that most of the immigration people have been complaining about in recent years as been that from the EU.It as been largely the massive influx from Poland and elsewhere that has put strain on the public services and that has resulted in parents finding it hard to get places in schools for there children and a lack of work for those in particularly the self-employed trades, plumbing, decorating etc because of tradesmen coming here from EU countries.Until the government somehow get to grips with this immigration people will not believe any promises they make about the subject and will continue to feel anger at the continuing high levels of immigration into the country.

Can you explain what policies the government have introduced since the election that have a hard socialist edge about them. I can tell you there would be some very happy people in the Labour Party if there were any such policies.

The government does not have the power to set a cap on immigration. It only has the power to set a cap on immigration from outside the EU. This in my opinion makes any announcement on immigration complete nonsense. Until you regain full powers on immigration then any announcement is like announcing a policy on road deaths while only having powers over bikes!

This is a drama therefore it is not meant to be true. I think people would have a case if it was a documentary but I think people are intelligent enough to know the difference between fact from fiction.

Royal events like weddings, funerals etc are opportunities for the nation to unite. At this wedding you will get people of all social classes, religions and races uniting in celebration together. Forgetting their differences and coming together.I think an opportunity for the country to do that especially at a time of economic austerity and discontent in the country is worth the money it may cost us and I am sure the country will be better off because of it.

I think your find the majority of Labour supporters support the monarchy as well. I would much rather have someone like the Queen or Prince Charles as our head of state than any politician from any party. They are above politics and are figure heads we can all unite around. We could never do that with a politician in the position.

Personally I think its tragic how many mining disasters there are in the world. The international mining labour organisation says that twelve thousand people lose there lives in mining disasters a year and they estimate that is a conservative figure as many deaths in China and in Africa are not reported. I think these disasters should be given more prominence on the news and not just when British miners are involved.I also believe its about time the international community encouraged countries to make there mines more safer and improve conditions for those that work down the mines.

Governments cannot make people more happier but they can help them feel more secure which can lead to happiness. They can help people feel more secure by creating the conditions so the country can become more wealthier, they can lower taxes and they can crack down on crime and anti-social behaviour.I also believe they can create a system whereas people know that should they become sick, disabled or unemployed they will not be abandoned but helped and that when you become old you do not sink into poverty. Its about creating conditions so no one feels that should disaster strike they are on their own!

I don`t see why people should be unimpressed with Ed Miliband when he has taken Labour five points clear in the polls in only two months. I can`t ever remember a defeated party recovering so quickly.I think Tories should stop concerning themselves about Labour and start concentrating on governing the country.

Labour`s biggest problem is the crazy system where the shadow cabinet is elected. It basically means that the leader is stuck with people who he wouldn`t normally touch with a barge pole given the choice.I can`t understand anyone with any sense being in favour of such a crazy system.

I agree totally with the article. This country has the talent to make world class films and we must do all we can to back and encourage film makers in this country. Having a successful film industry doesn`t just give benefits to that industry it also has knock on effects to the tourist industry and other sectors like the fashion and music industry.I really hope that Richard Harrington is successful in his efforts to get more help for this important industry.

No its not its just the words of someone who hates the thought of any young kid being driven to suicide because of the hatred of another person.
Tell that to the parents of the kids involved. It is a problem that goes on and which we need to deal with. I think that its great that David Cameron is supporting this campaign and he as my total support in doing so.

Sadly that is our politics now. Perhaps its a reflection on the sort of country we have become. A country where no one as a any courage any more and everything is about how people look or saying the right thing so no one is upset or offended.Personally I think the country is crying out for a Lord Young figure but I don`t see any person of any party front beach that fits that figure.
I think Lord Young comes from an age when politicians didn`t care so much about appearances and saying the right thing and this has what has let him down.We live in an age when if you tell it like it is and people don`t really like what they are hearing you are basically toast. Its sad I think.

They have been high profile because there have been a number of suicides in a short time not because they are rare.

Harman is not the only MP to do that. There are MP`s from all parts of the house who that applies to. Personally I am against second homes and I think we should discourage it through the tax system.

Personally I think there is little point in discussing immigration and how to control it until someone comes up with how we can regain full control of our borders.

I think Lord Young was right. I think the majority of people don`t realise how fortunate they are compared to past generations and many millions of others in the world.I think we should all count our blessings a bit more. Personally I have always admired Lord Young as I think he as a practicable mind and sees solutions to problems easier then others but politically I don`t think it was a wise thing to say. The problem the Tories have is that many believe they are enjoying the cuts and don`t really understand the lives of ordinary people. These sort of comments add to that impression so I totally understand the need for Cameron to slap Lord Young down like he has. That`s politics unfortunately!

We are alone in the democratic world where manifesto`s have taken on a reputation of being almost as holy with some as a bible. I personally think that manifesto`s should be viewed as a general outline of things that a party would like to do in an ideal world not as holy writ! All parties must have the freedom to react to events when they go into government. Anyway as this is a coalition government its impossible for either party to commit to everything in both there manifesto`s as many policies were opposed to one another. Hague is a good man and a excellent politician. People should stop running a great man down.

As far as I know there as been no comment on what this incident was about or the nationality of those involved.I may be wrong but surely you are not just trying to spread hatred about!!!

Important only if you think that the colour of someone`s skin is important.I don`t!

Some people move into government and become ministers some like David Cameron stay party politicians.I think Hague as become a minister. He try`s to run his department in the interests of the country not the Tory party. I believe that he alone as become a statesman since the election whereas other ministers continually give the impression they are still in opposition. I can understand why Hague is becoming unpopular with parts of the Tory party as I think he is not obsessive about the EU as many are and is pragmatic rather than dogmatic. You should appreciate him more and open your eyes to what a great politician he is.Perhaps at the end of the day he is just too good for the modern Tory party!!
