I ain't laughing. People are going to, yes, believe this for decades. Even if Time can be persuaded to issue a correction, it will continue to be cited as fact in countless editorials, news analyses, network talk shows, bar discussions, and so on and so forth. It may be fun to watch, for those of us who are paying close enough attention to understand just what Time's reporter stepped in - but most people aren't paying attention that closely. Every time this happens - a popular MSM outlet printing harmful falsehoods - it's a minor disaster, precisely because it plays into the narrative. It's corrosive.
