Some online resources help make the decision to have an interactive whiteboard in the classroom an easy one. When you use an IWB to see and interact with a resource like National Geographic's MapMaker 1-Page Maps, it's difficult to justify "not" having an Interactive Whiteboard. This interactive map resource allows you to explore in detail different areas of the world. All you do is select a region of the world and then select a country. Even if you're just beginning to develop your own interactive lessons using the Smart Notebook software, you'll want to learn how to use and apply themes to make your lessons consistant and more engaging. Themes allow you to place the same objects on multiple pages quickly and easily. Not only are there lots of pre-existing themes already contained in the Notebook Gallery, you can create you own themes in a few short steps. Best of all, if you need to change something or add something new to your pages, you can just edit your theme and apply the changes to all your pages at the same time. To demystify how themes work, I've created a short Notebook video tutorial that demonstrates how to add a pre-existing theme as well as how to create your own theme and apply it to all your pages.
