I guess I have been lucky in that I have had two incidents that have tested various parts of our disaster plan and allow us to improve it before a real disaster strikes. Last year a tree took out the main internet connection (cable line). It took them two days to fix which allowed us to test our alternate internet connections. Yesterday we received notice that we will not have water service for 24 hours while they repair the line. Easy to deal with but an issue most take for granted. Since these were unscheduled events they had the benefit of being a real test of parts of the plan. Still have a few other parts to stress test and I expect I will learn something from each.

Over the years (41 to be exact) I hope I have learned a few lessons including:
"Trust takes years to build, yet seconds to shatter"
and to emphasize :
"Honesty is the best policy"
and the one of the hardest:
saying "I am sorry/I was wrong/" and meaning it.
Although the most difficult for me may be:
Act now like you will need your body for a 100 years. While I eat healthier than I did 3 years ago which was better even than 5 years ago; I can say that there is a lot of room for improvement.
