There is however, one hope missing from the plan. Over the course of its history, the planet Earth had developed a relatively effective CO₂ buffer system. It was called Green Plants. One of the unfortunate by-products of the success of humans in evolutionary terms is the loss of significant plant biomass not just in the highly publicized rainforests but all over; including photosynthetic algae in the oceans. A plan that seeks to limit human production of CO₂ ought also to promote a rejuvenation of the planet's ability to provide relative equilibrium.
