On YouTube, I just stumbled across a strings trio called Simply Three. Watched three videos in a row. By the time "Africa" was half done, I had tears running down my face. This is the power of Art (which deserves to be capitalized). Enjoy. -- Janet Continue reading

On Twitter, Stephen Langlois asked: I’m a talented writer, but am rarely published. Am never solicited. My book has been rejected by nearly every publisher I know of. When I do publish, no more than 10-15 people read my work. With each rejection, my art brings me less joy. Legit... Continue reading

After my neighbor (who just happens to be my former 11th grade English teacher!) dropped off homemade strawberry jam yesterday morning--"just to spread joy", she said--I realized just how needed joy spreading is during these challenging times. ❀ So I started a new Facebook page and will be giving away... Quick: What's the difference between a maze and a labyrinth? ::plays Jeopardy! theme song:: For one, mazes have dead ends--but labyrinths have one way in and one way out. The former is frustrating, the latter is meditative. When I was in High School (over 30 years ago... *wince*), inspiring English... Continue reading

I am so sorry you had this happen to you, too, Andrea. Did you happen to use PayPal? They're really good about rectifying sales. You could even report this guy as a repeat thief. Thanks for stopping by and take care. -- Janet
Tamster, that's an interesting point about those of who grew up "analog" may fare better during these times (and we'd def fare better should there be an internet outage!) πŸ™‚ So many have substituted screen time for tactile/physical hobbies and time in/with nature, that they'd likely feel lost during a web blackout. I'm glad my post offered some comfort. Totally my intention. ❀ Thanks for taking the time to comment!

Those with strong Hermit archetypes have already been self-isolating. In fact, self-quarantine is a natural state of being. The Hermit goes it alone, seeking knowledge--and trusting that his next step is lit by destiny. This energy is comfortable by itself, not needing the company of others to entertain, distract or... In the mid-1300s, the Bubonic Plague--aka "The Black Death"--was the most deadly disease outbreak in human history, decimating 1/3 of the European population. The sick, dying and dead lined the streets. The poor and rich alike were infected--including doctors and nurses. Although the contagion struck fear in the hearts of... Continue reading

As much as I love Nirvana, I think music started to go downhill after grunge. And the downfall of Napster. The Industrial Music Complex (πŸ˜‚) churns out mediocrity; everything sounds the same. Cynical, obectifying, violent and materialistic lyrics are SO lowest-common-denominator (and chakras).😝
Agree on all counts. :o) You know, there's a difference between cooks who follow recipes to the ounce--an innovative chefs who know the ingredients so well, they create marvels on a plate. I think you know what kitchen you and I are in... πŸ˜‰
I love 60s music (even though I wasn't born until 1970). Some of the music I was listening to as I formulated my Hippie Blends: And "our song": I swear, the best music was made prior to 1985... Continue reading

Sad to hear things are still the same with the online Tarot world. I had such bad experiences with so many in the Tarot world that I just decided to not blog, vlog, podcast, teach or write books on the topic anymore (despite some begging me to return). Their whole zeitgeist is so ego-driven--so toxic, materialistic and grade-school cliquish--that I couldn't stand to be "among" them anymore. It's an embarrassment--and another setback for Tarot (which already gets labeled a "devil's tool" from the ignorant)... Thanks so much for stopping by and commenting. Much appreciated. :o)

After discovering the heavenly smell of Patchouli--as well as "woodsy" and "smoky" scents (Ho Wood, Buddha Wood, Cedarwood, Sandalwood, Vetiver, etc.)--I decided to pay homage to the hippie era of the 60s and 70s: a time of idealism, flower children, pacifism, free love, experimentation, political protests and anti-establishment sentiments. The... Continue reading
