Hi Everyone... .Second post for today! I did get to spend some time in my craft room and I couldn't wait to play along with this fabulous sketch from Freshly Made and it allowed me to use on of my favorite Penny Black Sets - Joyful Holiday As soon as I saw this sketch, I had this idea in my head of combining my very old Taylored Expressions woodland die with this fabulous deer. Of course, the postbox in this set caught my attention. It so reminds me of England. I began by die-cutting the woodland die and I used... Continue reading

Happy Sunday! It's the fabulous LeAnne's turn to host this challenge of the year at the Paper Players. It's color week! When I saw this photo, I immediately thought back to the 60s and 70s when flock wallpaper was all the rage, except it wasn't cooling shades of blue! Am I the only one who remembers that paper? I decided to use silver as my main color and brought out some old SU silver shimmer card stock and colored my snowmen with the remaining colors. Here's my card: Aren't they such a cute trio! I used a wonky oval stitched... Continue reading

Happy Saturday! It's the fabulous Ceal's turn to host our final Addicted to CAS challenge for 2019 She has a great code word for us to finish out our challenge year: I decided to ink up an older set, with a more traditional feel. I added a minimum of coloring and backed it on a fabulous Simon Says Stamp red card stock base. I hope you will play along with us on this, our final challenge of 2019. As usual, our design team have some fabulous inspiration for you, including our guest designer for this challenge, Crafting Claire. AKA Vicky... Continue reading

Happy Sunday! I had some time to play in my craft room and needed a card to send to one of our besties in the UK. The sketch across at Freshly Made this week was PERFECT. Before sharing my card, I need to give you the backdrop to this card. This is another set from Paper Rose Studio and I fell in love with it because it reminded me of my time spent in Africa. However, the elephant in the stamp is an Asian elephant and not an African elephant, which, to be honest, made me slightly annoyed whilst I... Continue reading

Happy Sunday! It's the fabulous Laurie's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and this is her theme: Considering the ground is covered in snow where we are - and Laurie is expecting much more than we are... the theme is just perfect. It really is a winter wonderland outside right now and the snowflakes are big and fluffy and Hallmark-Christmas-movie-perfect! As soon as I saw this challenge I knew there was only one stamp set that would work - Gerda Steiner's Happy Snowman. He's so perfectly cute! I combined him with a snow mound die-cut.... it's so... Hi Everyone. Happy Wednesday and greetings from a snow-filled world! I had fun playing along with the Less is More challenge for this week - it's such an unusual challenge and really had me thinking outside the box. This is another card for sendasmile4kids and it was a perfect opportunity to use another set from Paper Rose Studio called Gnomies. It seems gnomes are everywhere these days and I have seen some of the cutest gnome sets ever and I love these little guys. The most fun was paper piecing his outfit. Cutting out his little mittens was interesting.... but... Continue reading

Hi Everyone. Happy Monday. When I got to play in my craft room this weekend, it was all fun. My cards for my design team commitments are all done of the year, so I was able to play along with some weekly challenges and create just for fun. I'm making some cards for SendaSmile4kids - and found this fabulous set when my hubby was in Australia. It's from Paper Rose Studio and is called Super Hero Fun. It comes with matching dies - which was great for this little guy! The AAA Card challenge calls for cards made in minutes... Continue reading

Hi Everyone. Happy Sunday. My second post for today! I have a quick post for you tonight featuring a new stamp set that Lou brought back from his trip to a scrapbooking store when he was across in Australia. I didn't ask him to go, he went and phoned me when he got there. Mind you, he did forget that it was 1.30 in the morning my time when he called me :-) He asked me what I wanted from the store and I told him to get me anything "Australiana" or made in Australia. One of the sets, was... Continue reading

Hi Everyone. Happy Sunday. It's the fabulous Joanne's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and she has a great sketch for us. I decided it was time to ink up my favorite SU set - Christmas Cardinal. I haven't used it for a few weeks. I went with a red base this time - so unusual for me! I paired the image with some Christmas Toile DSP and, of course, had to frame the base layer with my stitched frames dies. I have no idea what I would do without these! I hope you will join us... Hi Everyone. Happy Saturday. It's the fabulous Bobby's turn to host our Addicted to CAS challenge this week and here is her code word: When I was creating a card for this challenge, I realized that I had no card front sentiments that fit that challenge. Then I thought about it.... why do you have to use a "headline" sentiment. What's wrong with using the sentiments that were meant more for "internal" and change it up and use it for the front of the card. Well, that was my thinking, anyway! I used a "Merry Christmas" from the Altenew set... Continue reading

Hi Everyone. Happy Sunday. It's my turn to host the Paper Players challenge this week - and it's theme week. As an aside, I just love the badge that Nance created for our challenge..... Seeing the Aurora is on my life list. This year, we had a 98% chance of seeing it in our area - but it was rainy and cloudy that night! So, I wasn't able to check it off my life list! For my card, I pulled out a very old stamp set from the The Rubber Cafe called North Pole. It's one of those stamps that... Continue reading

HI Everyone. Happy Tuesday. I have a quick post for you tonight showcasing a card I made using this sketch from casethissketch It didn't take me long to decide what to do with this sketch, especially as I had a new die sitting on my craft table - courtesy of my wonderful hubby, who brought back a bag full of goodies from a scrapbook store he visited when he was down in Australia! I used grey cardstock for the die-cut and removed two buildings on either side of the middle trio. I then stuck a piece of yellow card stock... Continue reading

Hi Everyone. Well, I made a card using the Freshlymadesketches sketch... and missed the deadline for submission! However, I thought I would still share the card with you. The sketch is a very different sketch and really pushed me out of my comfort zone. Sendasmile4kids was looking for birthday cards and I made this card with them in mind. I began with one of my remaining Altenew butterflies and took my color queues from there. Here's my card: The fluttering by sentiment is from a Penny Black set called "Snippets" and I paired it with a Happy Birthday sentiment from... Continue reading

Hi Everyone. Happy Sunday. It's the fabulous Claire's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week - and it's color week: Mmmm.... these colors scared the heck of out of me:-) and it wasn't just because I don't have them in my collection either. Bermuda Bay was never one of my go to SU colors and purple.... well, 'nuff said about purple:-). However, I do love the challenge of being forced to get out of my comfort zone and do something different. So, I'm thanking Claire for that! I was really tempted to go a floral route, but I... Hi Everyone. Happy Saturday. Today is the 7th anniversary of Addicted to CAS. Yes, 7 years! how amazing is that! The fabulous Vicki is our host for this challenge and the code word is... not surprisingly.... I made two different cards for this challenge... I wanted to go whimsical with one and then use one of my favorite sets for the other. But... before we get to my cards, a I want to say a huge thank you to Kylie - the creator of Addicted to CAS. I can still remember when I received an email from Kylie asking me... Continue reading

Hi Everyone. Happy Sunday. It's the fabulous Anne Marie's turn to host our Paper Players challenge and it's theme week! I must admit that when I first saw this theme, I really wished I had a little girl in a red cape - or a fox with big ears and big teeth :-) Anyway, I didn't have either of those things, so went with something a little more conventional instead :-) It was a great excuse for me to ink up some stamps from Ellen Hutson from a set called Backyard Party. I stamped, colored and die-cut each of the... Continue reading

Hi Everyone. Happy SUnday. It's the fabulous Ann's turn to host our Paper Players Challenge this week and it's sketch week: When you take a look at the design team creations, you will realize how wonderfully versatile the sketch is! There is some wonderful inspiration for you in the gallery. I decided to keep it pretty simple and close to the sketch. The only thing I had to do was move the sentiment. It was a very easy card to pull together and a great way to showcase the fabulous DSP as well as the stamp set. Here's my card:... Continue reading

Hi Everyone. Happy Saturday. It's my turn to host the challenge at AddictedtoCAS this week and this is my code word: I don't know about you, but I have had more than my fair share of heros/sheros in my time. Many people who have inspired me by their actions, how they handled situations, how they inspired others, how they championed others... so many different ways. I hope you will join us and play along this week and make a card and send it to someone who is your hero/shero! As I was making cards for SendASmile4Kids, I decided to use... Continue reading

Hi Everyone. Happy Sunday. It's the fabulous LeAnne's turn to host our Paper Players challenge and it's clean and simple week. I decided to make use of some of the new DSP I got from SU. It's supposed to be Christmas paper, but I think that some of the images on the DSP work well for many other occasions. I used a soft pink sheet for my card. I used a die to die cut a piece of vellum. I colored the vellum on the reverse side with a soft silvery/gold water color ink from Kuretake. I let it dry... Continue reading

Hi Everyone. Happy Sunday. It's the fabulous Laurie's turn to host our Paper Players challenge and it's color week: My problem with this color scheme was how to make a card using obviously Halloween colors - but not make a Halloween card :-) Mind you, one of my besties does celebrate her birthday on Halloween... so the colors and the birthday card are perfect for her :-) I started with a Vanilla base... I know... shock! Me using a non-white base! I began by stamping the flowers onto the base and then added the sentiment onto the focal layer. I... Continue reading

Hi Everyone. Happy Saturday. It's the fabulous Angie's turn to host our challenge at Addicted to CAS this week and here is her code word: I have to confess, I didn't have much in the way of plaid in my stash when I made this card, so I was a little limited by the colors in the only piece I had available :-) However, I needed a masculine thank you card, so thought the colors were fine for that purpose! I used an Altenew die to die-cut the leaves and mounted them onto a very vanilla layer and then onto... Continue reading

Hi Everyone. Happy Wednesday. I hope you are all enjoying this fabulous fall weather. It's been simply glorious here the last couple of days! I made a card for two challenges - the sketch across at Casethissketch and it worked very well with the theme across at Casology Whilst I was working out what to do with these challenges, I had a packet of Powder Pink card stock on my craft table... newly arrived from my Paper Players friend, LeAnne. For some reason, I completely missed this color whilst it was an In Color. Mind you, I generally avoid pinks... Continue reading

Hi Everyone. Happy Monday. I have a quick post for you today - getting another card for Lou - under the wire - at Freshly Made. I used my square stitched rectangle dies to cut out three spaces. I stamped the cat from the SU Nine Lives set 3 times and colored them to look like three of our kitties - Bailey - he's an orange and white tabby (but with MUCH more hair!); Charlie our black and white cat and Muffin, our grey and cream muted calico. Here's my card: Of course, as the only female in the house,... Continue reading

Hi Everyone. Happy Sunday. It's the fabulous Joanne's turn to host our Paper Players challenge today and it's theme week: I decided to keep this clean and simple and allow the Free As a Bird image to be the undisputed focal point of the card. Mind you, I couldn't help using my new dies as a frame :-) I colored the birds with my Caran D'Ache pencils and added the simple sentiment. Here's my card: As usual, the design team have some fabulous inspiration for you: Ann Claire Jaydee Joanne Laurie Anne Marie Su Wanda Windy On a personal note:... Continue reading
