Happy Sunday -again! Popping in with my second post for today as I wanted to share a card I created using the sketch across at Freshly Made: It's been ages since I have been in my craft room and made cards to participate in challenges. I needed a birthday card at this sketch inspired me to take out my new Botanicut Lily dies from The Greetery. I had tremendous fun just relaxing, diecutting, coloring and assembling. I needed a square behind my focal images, so I blended some Catherine Pooler inks with my blending brushes. Here's my card: I love... Continue reading

Happy Sunday. It's the fabulous Laurie's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week - and it's color week. Here's Laurie's challenge: Black, red and grey are colors that I generally don't put together. Coincidentally, it happens to be the second post in a row that has images from these three exact colors! For today's card I thought about it for a while and decided to create a clean and simple, almost masculine card and that the images in the Hero Arts Seas the Day set would work perfectly. Luckily I had my layered rectangles to help me create... Continue reading

Happy Saturday. It's the fabulous Fran's turn to host our Addicted to CAS challenge and this is her code word: I pulled out my Little Ladybug from Stampin' Up! It is the only stamp set that I have that contains bugs, but it's a favorite for young kids cards. I made this card for the collection I gathered for Bearly Art 2021. I paired the stamp set with my crimped frame from The Greetery and did some very simple coloring. Here's my car: They really are cute little ladybugs! I hope you will join us and play along with our... Continue reading

Happy Sunday. It's the fabulous Joanne's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and she has a great theme for us: This was great inspiration for me as I made cards for the Bearly Art card drive. I found this fabulous Hero Arts dragon set at Joanne's on a buy 2 get 1 free promotion and I paired it with the film strip from My Favorite Things. I just love these little dragons - especially with the sentiment. Here's my card: I hope you will join us and play along - we can't wait to see what you... Continue reading

Happy Saturday. It's the fabulous Vicky's turn to host our Addicted to CAS challenge this week and here is her code word: When I thought of this code word, my initial reaction was to do something with clouds. Then I realized I didn't have anything that went with clouds, so I had to give it another thought. I went through my stamps and saw the balloon bouquet from the greetery and thought - oh.... balloons and sky! So, now you know why there is a balloon on my card! Here's my card: I die-cut the balloon from a piece of... Continue reading

Happy Sunday - Again :-) Just a quick post as I wanted to share one of the cards I made today. As always, I went looking for some inspiration and visited one of my favorite sites - AtlanticHeartsSketches. I'd like to give a shout-out to the DT. Not only do they have great challenges, but the design team are amazing about leaving meaningful comments on the submission cards. In my experience, not ever challenge site does that, so it makes it extra special when the DT members take the time. This is their great sketch for this week. As you... Continue reading

Happy Sunday. It's the fabulous Laurie's turn to host our CAS week Paper Players challenge and this is her theme: I decided to go with a bunch of spring inspired flowers with a pretty big bow. The flowers were created from the Mason Jar Filler Stencil from The Greetery and the big pink bow is from the set called Put a Bow on It - also from The Greetery. To add just a little bit of dimension I die cut two extra bows from plain card stock and added those behind the printed one. Here's my card: I hope you... Continue reading

Happy Sunday - again! This is my second post for today. You can find my Paper Players card at this link. Yesterday was the first day in many weeks that I got to make a card just for the fun of it. I saw this great sketch across at AtlanticHearts and decided to play along. Before I show you my card, I had to show you the inspiration for it. I wasn't inspired by the colors - but more by the sentiment on the framed piece. When we were looking for something to replace the winter themed one of the... Continue reading

Happy Sunday It's the fabulous LeAnne's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and it's color week. When I first saw this color challenge I immediately thought masculine. It would have worked really well for some of the ideas that I had but, as I stood looking at my collection of stamps, I had an idea to use it with Free as a Bird instead! This set is one of my favorite Stampin' Up! sets of all time and is another one of those sets that won't get recycled for quite a while! I stamped and colored the... Continue reading

Happy Saturday. It's the fabulous Joy's turn to host our Addicted to CAS challenge and this is her code word: I needed a card to send to a crafting friend who needs a little support. I used an old sketch from the Paper Players and inked up the wonderful Cotton Comforts from The Greetery. Here's my card: I love the sentiments from this set as well as the softness of the focal images. I think I will be using this set a lot! The design team have some fabulous inspiration for you. We hope that you will join us. We... Continue reading

Happy Sunday. It's my turn to host the Paper Players challenge this week and it's theme week! I'm so looking forward to the arrival of our first buds, but we are still a few weeks away for that here. However, that doesn't stop me dreaming about green things popping up out of the ground and the first shades of color. Some of our first plants are the Prairie Smoke and our Iris. For today's card I used some of my Mom's favorite flowers - tulips. I love this set called Budding Beauties Spring from The Greetery. I paired it with... Continue reading

Happy Sunday. It's the fabulous Anne Marie's turn to host our Paper Players challenge and it's theme week: I decided to go all - and feminine! It's a profusion of pink! Someone had better call the carding police - I can't remember ever having made an all pink card. Well, there are touches of white and silver :-) It was a perfect excuse to use the balloon dies from The Greetery that go with the Balloon Bouquet stamp set. I paired it with some gorgeous DSP that I purchased at JoAnns. One of those 3 for the price of 2... Continue reading

Happy Sunday. It's the fabulous Ann's turn to host our Paper Players challenge and it's CAS week. Ann chose a fabulous theme for us: There were so many places I could have gone with this but, in the end, I decided to ink up my new stencil and stamp set from the Greetery called Bunny Hop. This card is an Easter card, but I used the same layout to make birthday cards for tbe Bearly Art card drive for kids in foster care. The Greetery really do make it so easy to make these cards. The stencils are numbered and... Continue reading

Happy Sunday. It's the fabulous Joanne's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week - and it's color week: Thes eare such wonderful spring colors and I was inspired to use my new die-cuts from The Greetery. I sponged colors as close to Heather and Seaside as I could and die-cut the forget-me-nots. I paired them with a heart from the Posy Heart die and a sentiment from the Mini Heart Boxwood. I blended some ink on the background, too so that I could anchor the posy heart. I popped the flowers up on foam dots to add a... Continue reading

Happy Saturday. It's the turn of the fabulous Raga to host our Addicted to CAS challenge this week and this is her code word. Originally, I was looking to do something with triangles, but realized that I had a much more fun choice with Stampin' Up!s Game On. I thought the shapes of the chess pieces and the board inspired background would be much more interesting. This card is one that is going into the collection that I have going for Bearly Art's card drive for Foster Kids. If you are interested in finding out more about this card drive,... Continue reading

Happy Sunday. It's the fabulous Claire's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week - and she has a wonderful theme for us: It was the perfect challenge for me to ink up my Budding Beauties Spring from The Greetery and pair it with the Bottled Up. It was also the perfect opportunity to use some light, soft, pastel, spring-time colors! I inked and stamped the elements and then die-cut them all. I really love this bottled up stamp set and die and think it's going to get lots of use! Here's my card: I hope you will join... Continue reading

Happy Saturday. It's the fabulous Vicki's turn to host our AddictedtoCAS challenge this week and she has a code word that is just up my alley! I inked up an old Penny Black stamp. This stamp is part of a Christmas set called Joyful Holiday. But, I just felt that this was appropriate with a different sentiment. After all, the deer is carrying an envelope - so how appropriate is the sentiment - Just a Note! :-) I kept it very clean and simple and focused on coloring the deer and left everything around it white! here's my card: It... Happy Sunday. Before I get to my Paper Players card and the card drive announcement, I wanted to send hugs and love to those of you who have been affected by the terrible storms of the last week. I have friends and work colleagues in those areas hardest hit and my heart goes out to them - and to all of you who have been affected. About our challenge this week: It's the fabulous LeAnne's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and it's CAS week and LeAnne has a great theme for us. I also have an... Continue reading

Happy Sunday and Happy Valentine's to all of you! I hope you have a wonderful day and you are all spoiled by those that love you. It's my turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and it's color week. There are choices to be made :-) Black and white with red and or pink and then paired with a metallic of gold/silver. For my choices I went with red and gold. I had to pull out of of my favorite sets - Signed and Sealed (I know you must be tired of seeing this set!) But... I really... Continue reading

Happy Saturday! It's the fabulous Nancy's turn to host our Addicted to CAS challenge and this is her code word: Initially I was really tempted to go with a Valentine's Day card, but decided to go with a holiday theme instead. I pulled out some Schoolhouse Red cardstock from Simon Says Stamp and paired it with the Hug in a Mug Sweet Treats die set from The Greetery. I love this little cookie die. I die cut it once with Crumb Cake cardstock and then again with glittery red paper. I sandwiched them together and added the sentiments. The focal... Continue reading

Happy Sunday. It's the fabulous Anne Marie's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week. Of the choice of stars or hearts, I went for hearts. It was a great opportunity for me to use my new Heart Leaf Posy Pocket from The Greetery to create an interactive card. I used the Knit Wits stencil (also from The Greetery) to create the background and ran that through my Big Shot with the Postal Frames die. I used some of my favorite red Schoolhouse Red card stock from SimonSaysStamp for my Posy Pocket. It was so easy to die cut... Continue reading

Happy Sunday. It's the fabulous Laurie's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and it's Tic Tac Toe week! Here's Laurie's board: I went across the top: die-cut, animal, scene. I started by stamping the birds from the Robin and Wren set from The Greetery and paired that with Blooming Branch - also from The Greetery. I blended some Pool Party ink onto a piece of Neenah Solar White card stock and then die-cut the top and bottom pieces from the Oval Halfsies dies - also from The Greetery. All that was left to do was assemble the... Continue reading

Happy Saturday. It's the fabulous Sue's turn to host our Addicted to CAS challenge and this is her code word: When I saw this code word, I was wondering how I could incorporate pattern into a CAS card. Well, I thought of one of my favorite sets - Signed and Sealed from The Greetery and realized that I could use the stamps and dies to create the pattern on the flap of the envelope. Normally I spend I a lot of time trying to incorporate flowers into the envelope and spend less time on the envelope itself! Here's my card:... Continue reading
