Happy Sunday. It's the fabulous Claire's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and she has the perfect theme for us: It's a perfect theme for me as we have lots of fresh snow on the ground and the world looks pretty much like the inspiration photo! I used a snowflake stencil from The Greetery to create a softly blended background for my card. I then stamped the elements from one of the stamps from the Budding Beauties Winter set - also from the Greetery. However, the stem alone just didn't feel right so I pulled a die... Continue reading

Happy Saturday. It's the fabulous Ceal's turn to host our AddictedtoCAS challenge this week and she has a very appropriate code word for us - especially as it's been snowing here for the last 36 hours! For my card, I pulled out an old Gerda Steiner stamp called Happy Snowman. I just love this little guy and he is such fun to color. I used Copic markers and prismacolor pencils to color him. I paired the image with the Postal Frames die from The Greetery. You can't tell me that this little guy doesn't make you smile! :-) I hope... Continue reading

Happy Thursday. I can't believe it's Thursday already! I made a quick card for the fabulous challenges across at Festive Friday - It's Ice Cream week! and FreshlyMadeSketches. Here's the inspo list from Festive Friday - I went with pink, brown and dry embossing. And here is the sketch from FreshlyMade, which I turned vertical instead of horizontal. I love the DSP that accompanies the new Sweet Ice Cream set from Stampin' Up! but when I played with it I realized it is a pretty intense pattern. My original intention had been to use some of it for the piece... Continue reading

Happy Sunday. It's the fabulous Ann's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and she has a wonderful color challenge for us. For my card I pulled out some goodies that came as part of my gift card from The Greetery courtesy of my darling hubby! I used the Hand in Hand set and a couple of stencils - Pathway and Fir & Foliage 1. Here's Ann's colors: I decided to use brown as my neutral as I wanted to use a couple of different shades of brown. I used an brown for the hair on both the... Continue reading

Happy Sunday. It's the fabulous LeAnne's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and she has a great challenge for us. It's also the first challenge of the new year and we welcome three new very talented guest designers for 2021. Welcome Amanda, Debbie and Nancy - I am so happy that you have joined our team and look forward to seeing your wonderful creations in our challenge each week. For tonight's card I used something new - well... a couple of things :-) I inked up one of the new sets that I got as part of... Continue reading

Happy Saturday! I'm excited to announce that today marks the return of the Addicted to CAS challenges after a short break last year. Today's challenge is from the fabulous Barb and this is the word that she has chosen. I chose to heat emboss the large sentiment and the details on the stamp and kept the colors to black and gold with a touch of red. I die-cut the outline of the large sentiment from The Greetery Opposites Attract stamp set three times and added those behind the original embossed and die-cut sentiment. I wanted the large sentiment to pop... Continue reading

Happy Saturday and a belated Merry Christmas to all. Lou and I both hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and were able to spend time with your loved ones - albeit remote for many of us! I had meant to share this card with you yesterday, but when I scheduled it to publish I scheduled it for the wrong date! I created multiples of these cards for our personal Christmas cards this year. I mixed some of my new The Greetery goodies - Hoop Wreath Stamp Set and the Hoop Wreath die with a favorite die from Stampin' Up!... Continue reading

Happy Monday! Festive Friday have another great challenge and I couldn't wait to play along. I needed to make a Christmas card for our amazing postal worker. Really.... it doesn't matter if its -47 degrees or +115 degrees, postie is out there every day delivering mail. This year has been particularly tough and I know our postie has worked some really long hours, so I decided to use the Festive Friday inspo board to create a card using several new goodies: Budding Beauties Winter, Robin and Wren, Nordic Frames and Snowflake stencil - all part of my anniversary gift from... Happy Sunday. Today it is the fabulous Claire's turn to host our Paper Players challenge and it's color week. Here is our challenge: Initially I really wanted to make a New Year card, but decided to make a celebration card instead. I paired the poinsettia with a sentiment from the Happiest of Birthday's set and created this clean and simple card. I heat embossed the bracts from the Poinsettia with silver embossing powder and layered them with a little foam tape and added that large sentiment. A really easy card to put together. It's the kind of card that could... Continue reading

Happy Sunday. It's the fabulous Joanne's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and it's theme week. For my card, I was inspired by a photo on our local news channel that showed sun set over the snow - and how the snow turned orange. I decided it was the perfect time to ink up my Wishes and Wonder set. Here's Joanne's theme: I started by blending the winter sky with the sun setting. I stamped, die-cut and colored the sleigh from the Wishes and Wonder set. I added the North Pole stamp onto the base with some... Continue reading

Happy Saturday. Where has this week gone? I have a quick card for you tonight using one of my favorite Stampin' Up! sets - Toile Christmas. This is one of the cards that was shipped off to the seniors this past week. I made multiples of them - all slightly different. I love how versatile this set is - it can be used for very simple CAS cards, or, like the one tonight. Generally I spend a fair amount of time coloring this image, but as I was making multiples of this card, I did some very quick coloring with... Continue reading

Happy Sunday, again :-) In case you missed it, you can find my Paper Players card on this post. I have a quick card for you that I created from the sketch across at Casethissketch. It's a really cool sketch and I decided to turn it on the vertical instead of the horizontal. I used my favorite The Greetery sets - Robin and Wren and Blooming Branches to create this little scene. Here's the sketch: I created a sponged background for my frame and used my nested squares to create the frame. I stamped and die-cut the birds and the... Continue reading

Happy Sunday. It's the fabulous Anne Marie's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and she has a great Tic Tac Toe board for us. For my choices I went horizontal on the top line - Patterned Paper, Die Cut and Embossing. For my card I used some of my new favorite goodies from The Greetery: Signed & Sealed with a Kiss, Signed & Sealed and the Shiplap dies. Oh... I LOVE those dies! I created my own patterned paper by blending oranges and browns together on a piece of Vanilla card stock and then die cutting them.... Continue reading

Happy Saturday. I have a couple of cards to share with you tonight using the Stampin' Up! Detailed Doves dies. I was asked to help create Christmas and Hanukkah cards for distribution to old age homes and also military families. I thought about the Detailed Dove die and thought it was perfect for both celebrations. I paired the dove dies with some Feels like Frost and some retired Brightly Gleaming. I made multiples of these cards with different papers, but wanted to just share a couple of examples with you tonight. Such a wonderfully versatile set of dies and I... Continue reading

Happy Friday. I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Lou and I had a quiet day relaxing. I did get to spend some time in my craft room and have a couple of cards to share with you tonight using the Stampin' Up! Wishes and Wonder set. Before we get to the cards, let's talk about blog candy! I have a few extra goodies and want to share them with you - my favorite blog readers. In this time of being grateful - I really am grateful to all of you who read my blog, comment or send me... Continue reading

Happy Wednesday. I have a few variations on the same layout - with the same set - for you tonight. Christmas Selfies from My Favorite Things is such a fun set. It was perfect to make multiples of for both SendASmile4Kids - and also for seniors to send out to their grandkids. So, I stamped up the images, did some very simple coloring, and add lots of glimmer and shine - but not with real glitter. One set of requests asked for holiday/winter themed cards but no Merry Christmas. On the other hand, another request was to HAVE Merry Christmas!... Continue reading

Happy Monday. I have a card to share with you tonight made with one of my favorite Stampin' Up! sets - Poinsettia Petals. I've made multiple cards with this set this year and tonight's card is starting to be one of my favorites. I am trying to use up some of the gorgeous DSP I have collectd over the years. It seems such a waste to "keep saving it"! I pulled two pieces of paper from the SU Brightly Gleaming from 2019. I LOVE the colors, but the patterns are a little strong. So, I decided to mute them with... Continue reading

Happy Sunday. It's the fabulous LeAnne's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and it is sketch week: Now, I have to admit... this sketch scared me! What really scared me about it was trying to get all those pieces of paper straight. and, of course, I didn't quite make it! However, I do love the look of the playful pets suite paper and love it with the sentiment that I got in a set from Frantic Stamper. This is another card that is being sent off to Send a Smile 4 Kids... so I think someone might... Continue reading

Happy Saturday. I have a card that was inspired by the challenge across at Inkspirational. It was a great excuse to use my new The Greetery Postal Frames die. I am in love with these days. I paired it with the treats from the Hug in a Mug Sweet Treats - also from The Greetery. The finishing touches were the little sweet elements that are part of the Hug in a Mug treats. I haven't had the chance to use the Hug in a Mug set yet, but I will this coming week as I am on vacation! Here's the... Continue reading

Happy Sunday. It's the fabulous Ann's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and she has a fun CAS theme for us: Now, I was tempted to use my new Cozy Cups stamp and die because I was so inspired by the gorgeous photo on the badge but decided to use the colors as inspiration for a Happy New Year card. I used another one of the sets that I bought with my gift card to The Greetery. I paired Robin and Wren stamp set and dies with the Blooming Branch stamp and dies. I also used the... Continue reading

Happy Wednesday. I decided to showcase some Christmas cards I am making and share them as "12 cards of Christmas". So, on the first card of Christmas I give to thee - a Poinsettia... but not in a pear tree :-) I promised to show you a fully Stampin' Up! card that I had made using the colors from Joanne's gorgeous color challenge across at the Paper Players this week. I made this card using Poinsettia Petals and paired it with some metallic mirror silver card stock. You can see the original card I made for the challenge at this... Continue reading

Happy Tuesday! I have a quick post for your today showcasing another one of The Greetery sets - Cozy Cup. I love this set and the fact that it comes with a die for the placement under the cup! I saw this awesome photo challenge at Fusion and decided to focus on some of the elements in the photo. Namely, the wooden top, the grey cup and the silvery/grey background of the photo. I also picked up the yellow from the candles and added that to the cup. I began with a piece of woodgrain DSP from Stampin' Up! and... Continue reading

Happy Sunday. It's the fabulous Joanne's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and she has a wonderful color challenge for us: I was also inspired by the fabulous list across at Festive Friday:. Who could resist playing along with World Kindness day? I went with embossing, flowers and die-cut. This is such a wonderful Christmas color challenge, but I decided to go a different direction! The addition of the silver/gold really does take these colors to a whole other level - and I loved it. In fact, I made two cards using these colors. The one today... Continue reading

Happy Sunday. It's the fabulous Laurie's turn to host our Paper Players challenge this week and it's theme week. Now, I don't have any stamps even remotely associated with turkey's, so I thought about the other words associated with turkey and this time of of year and grateful came to mind. I decided to use a new die that was part of my goodies for my anniversary and paired the die with some die-cuts from the Stitched Leaves set that matches the Loyal Leaves stamps. I die-cut the leaves from fall colors and used the embossing die for the centers.... Continue reading

Happy Tuesday! As promised, I have another card for you tonight. This is another one I made this weekend with my new The Greetery Goodies. This one features Cozy Cup. I have several coffee themed sets, but this is my favorite! I love that it comes with a coaster die as well! I used the fabulous sketch from CaseThisSketch for my card. The minute I saw the sketch, I knew it was perfect for the Cozy Cup set. For the vertical element, I used my old Tim Holtz woodgrain stencil with some Sahara Sand ink. I die cut the elements...
