Argh. *CUTE*. I should really proofread.
Reason # 317 of Why I'm Never Bored
Today, as I was working on the finishing touches of some things to send to Benartex, Hazel took it upon herself to do a re-enactment photo of a picture I took of them a couple of years ago. She loves this picture of Eliza and herself (so do I...which is why it's on my mousepad!) and today sh...
Yes, it turned out sute! A million times, yes!

Wow. I don't even have words. I can't fathom how you accomplished all of this but you did a tremendous job! Your booth looks absolutely amazing. Your tote bags, the skirts, the quilts, all of the signage and decorative accents... you sure do have an eye for design! Congratulations in what I am sure is the tip of the iceburg. Proof positive that where there's a will, there's a way!
To Market, To Market...
What a whirlwind week it has been! I had such a great time at Spring Market in Salt Lake City. Not only did I get to create the booth you see here, but I got to reconnect with old friends, make some new ones, and meet so many wonderful quilters! It was a fantastic experience. I had been ...
Hi Shelley! You have had to go through so much with that house but you are making it into such a HOME! I love it! I also saw the plywood flooring blog and was able to locate it since I follow very few blogs with regularity. It is worth looking at! Happy renovations, and all the best to you. Morgen

A Big Fat Can of Worms
Friends, I'd like you to meet my studio. I KNOW. ...Which explains why I haven't had anything to blog about this week. All my stuff is crammed into other parts of the basement (just for a week, or so I thought) and nary a sewing project in sight. It all started out innocently enough. R...
The wedding photos are absolutely breathtaking. And the photos of you are very nice as well! I agree with Ann, the second photo is my favorite. Relaxed and confident. Couldn't have said it better myself!
Photo Finish
Ah, young love! I took bridal portraits for this handsome couple a couple of days ago. The groom is related to a wonderful family I know here in Virginia. The weather was F-R-E-E-Z-I-N-G! I felt so sorry for both of them, but they were really, really good sports about the cold. Fortun...
WOW. Like, I am picking my jaw up off the floor WOW. These bags are amazing, as is your sewing ability. AND, you are fulfilling a dream and I am incredibly happy for you!
It's Coming
Pattern #2 is just around the corner! My friend Angie was kind enough to pose for me on this endearingly muggy, typical-of-Virginia-in-August kind of day. The kind of weather we've been "blessed" with since June, but now the mosquitoes are providing an even greater excuse not to venture ...
Another great looking bag! I love the blue with the black and white. I have said it before and I will say it again, you have a grat eye for fabric! I have been (sigh) hemming men's trousers by hand. Not my favorite thing to do, but it has to be done. Can't wait to hear your big news!
BIG
I have big news. But I feel like I can't really say anything about it yet because, technically, it's not official and I don't want to jinx myself. Suffice it to say that it's a really big deal to me...and that's all I'm going to spill at this point. Meanwhile... I went to a friend's baby sh...
I like to think that nobody would violate your copyright and forward a PDF, but I know it happens. I am an instant-gratification person, however, and would much rather buy a PDF to download than mail-order or find a store in my remote corner of the US that carries your patterns. I would prefer a PDF but I am sure it holds much more risk as far as copyright infringement. On the other hand, you have the ability to appeal to a greater number of people who live all over the world and might prefer to have a download rather than pay for international shipping. So my answer is that I don't have an answer for you. I hope someone does! And I am so excited for you!!
PT
I love having PT's. But rather than devising a killer fitness regimen for me, my PT's (AKA Pattern Testers) are helping me whip my pattern into shape. And they're doing an awesome job. They've been giving me some great feedback and, as a result, this pattern that I've been working on (The ...
Shelley, please know that reading your blog gives me inspiration and a needed energy boost- I have a lot of desire and talent but my procrastination gets the better of me and I end up with an overwhelming pile of jobs to do and the joy is gone from the task. So funny, I hate to put things off but ALWAYS do it.
Did I ever mention that I have made hundreds of your fabric bookmarks? Well, maybe not hundreds, but quite a few... we gave them to the entire staff of my school one year with a little poem for Christmas, I made them with students as a fun activity in a tutoring program I do part time, I always have one on hand to put in a book if I am giving it as a gift. I truly love your ideas and feel blessed that you share them so we can all benefit, and (just a little) strive to be more like you.
For the Love of Patterns
First of all, a HUGE thank you to all of you who wrote in and offered to be pattern testers and/or gave me words of encouragement. I loved getting your emails and blog comments about having tested my tutorials and all the nice things you had to say. I'm glad those tutorials are being put to...
I had a huge comment written and it went away. Sigh. Shelley, I think you are such an inspiration, and I truly love to see everything you do! I will be a tester if you need anyone else, although I think you might be all set. I have no preference on the bags, they are all adorable. I am thinking you might want to try to get at least one beginning seamstress to test just to make sure they could handle it. I know when I got my hands on the Amy Butler cabo halter pattern, a friend of mine was going to do it with me as a sew-along but she was overwhelmed by it and just put it away... but I found the pattern to be incredibly user-friendly. Different perspectives! On another note, I would love to have a copy of your sewing curriculum. I have friends who have asked me to get their children interested in sewing but I don't have any kind of formal plans for that and would feel better if I had your ideas to go by. My email is jayneofall@yahoo.com. And thank you, again, for having this blog as an inspiration and for still appearing human although I think you must have some kind of super powers. :-) Morgen
The First One
It's been another busy week! I started teaching sewing classes for girls, which is going really well. It's a 12-week course in 2 hour blocks, with a class size limit of 3 girls. It's exciting to see how many young girls are interested in sewing - I already have a waiting list for the next ...
