Rothesay is based in Richmond, Virginia with the interior designers in this show house reflecting southern style. Tobi Fairley, a well-known interior designer from Little Rock, Arkansas, traveled to Richmond to showcase her design aesthetic in the stair hall of this home. I found it to be trad...
You are most welcome, Jennifer. It was such a delight to visit AI. Sandra has done a superb job in offering a wide range of furniture and she is so friendly.

The Loft at AI...
When I visited the DC Design House last April, I had no idea it would lead me to Sandra Steele, the Press Liaison to this not-for-profit corporation. Ms. Steele is the proud owner of the Loft at AI, based in Frederick, Maryland. Although I am a native northern Virginian, I admit I have never ...
Hi, Tom! Thanks for taking the time to visit. I am in complete awe over the flooring you created for Mary. It was nice to see it in person and can appreciate the hard work and the fact you traveled quite a ways to help Mary reflect a design aesthetic that I have appreciated for a long time.
All the best, Jeanette
RSOL's 2010 Designer Home: Mary Douglas Drysdale...
When I learned that there would be a design house coming to Richmond, my girlfriends and I began making plans for a weekend getaway filled with design inspiration and, of course, shopping. Our getaway has come and gone yet there is so much to share. The Richmond Symphony Orchestra League's 2010...
Thanks so much for taking the time to visit here, Diane. It was such a treat to see Tobi's work in person.
By the way, I thoroughly enjoy your magazine and recently became a subscriber. I just read the October issue over lunch and am completely inspired by the content, particularly the Easy Elegance article.

Where I Blog: Going Bright and Bold at BeColorful
Welcome to BeColorful! Over the weekend I read about a Where Do You Blog? party at Centsational Girl but because we were out of town I didn't have the opportunity to take pictures of my office until today. So even though I'm late to the party I thought it would be fun to submit my rather...

Blog Shelf
So many blogs to read, so little time. With Google Reader helping me keep blog reading in an organized fashion, I've discovered an application on the iPad that offers another form of organizing my hobby of reading blogs. Blogshelf is similar to eBooks in a format sense. As you can see in the phot...

I agree. No need for data ports. Just make sure yup have plenty of electrical outlets. Our iPad sits in the kitchen and my goal is to get rid of all our cookbooks and maintain our favorites on ebooks.
As behind as aim with my blog reading as well as posting on my own, I cannot imagine a day without missing yours.

Selecting fabric...
I am so indecisive. Perhaps it's my lack of confidence with color and design. Actually, I'm certain that is it (one of the only things I am certain of). When I view fabric samples, I gasp if I like it. It's when I take the fabric samples home to the space it is intended for that I begin to pa...
How fun, Michele! Enjoy your time in Seattle and the Cape as well as the souvenirs you collect. With the heat and humidity here, I'm envious you are visiting cooler climates. Safe travels!

Magazine Money...
Anya Hindmarch must have had us magazine addicts in mind when she included this lovely change purse in her Fall 2010 line-up. I run into the grocery store for milk and I return home with the milk as well as a magazine or two or three. And typically they are home design magazines. Entering a b...

Doesn't this look scrumptuous. My hubby would go crazy over this dish. Anything peanut butter, he loves.
Peanut Butter Cup Cake
You need to make this cake. No really, I know it's hot outside, but you need to make this cake. If you like peanut butter and chocolate together at all. Make. This. Cake. If you're the kind of person who tricks little kids out of their Reese's Peanut Butter Cups at Halloween? Yep. Make. Thi...
You still have it in you. Love the layout, Grandma! Congratulations.
See, I told you so!
A few posts back I told you I was still a scrapbooker- that I just needed a reason to scrapbook. Well, it looks like I've got my reason. ;) Katie and Garrett are expecting the most amazing miracle in January 2011. To say I am thrilled would be a total and complete understatement. I am over the m...
Susie,
I couldn't be more thrilled than I am now with our dining room window drapery panels. I truly appreciate the inspiration and assistance you provided with this project. Your taste is impeccable.
