www.sparknotes.com One of the best known sites for summaries and study guides for well known texts has branched out to providing even more information for students. The main headings on the homepage represent SparkNotes, NoFearShakespeare, Test Prep, College, and SparkLife. This site was originally started from another site titled The Spark created by Harvard students. In 1999, they started creating study guides for literature, poetry, philosophy, history and film. Now they have added guides for math, health, physics, biology, chemistry, economics, and sociology. In 2001, Barnes and Noble acquired the sparknotes site.
