32 year old taking this life one day at a time with daily doses of grace...
Interests: I prefer the country over the city and the mountains over the beach. I enjoy red wine, quiet, reading, movies, writing, crafts, and history. I cuss sometimes. I prefer jeans and flats over a skirt and heels. My dog gets on my nerves, but he sure is cute. I don't enjoy parties, but love getting together with a close friend or two. Snow days are my favorite. I love Jesus more than anything.

Galloping down the dusty street of a dilapidated western town, John Wayne sweeps in forcefully taking command of the chaos. The hero with the shiny badge saves the day. Every time. He does so with ease, confidence, and grace. Even... Continue reading

Speaking of being inconvenienced, this quote has been running amuck in my mind. I can't shake these words. When I initially read it, I immediately thought, "Yes. That's it." My very next thought was, "Wait, that doesn't sound right." My... Continue reading

I think this image came from the Hopeologie website. It's a brand new year. Again. Thank you, Jesus. BRING IT. New Year's Eve makes me cry. I prefer staying at home, listening to cute boy bands and Taylor Swift party... Continue reading

These girls. Words escape me in my humble attempt to articulate the adoration and respect I have for their sweet selves. Walking in the door to a Leading Ladies meeting and becoming vulnerable is brave. They do not even realize... Continue reading

Leading Ladies has ventured through a transformation. The group began as an idea that stewed in my mind for two years and evolved into a club for high school girls. Leading Ladies experienced a great run at the secondary level.... Continue reading

Kids teach me every day, and I am the one getting paid to help and serve them. The first few weeks of school can be traumatic for some, especially a kindergartner. Torn from all they know, stripped from the safe... Continue reading

Walking down the aisles at Target and Walmart, bombarded by the endless array of school supplies is a reminder of a new school year approaching. Summer is taking her final few breaths, and Fall is about to be born. There... Continue reading

I'm purposely trying to mix up some of the more serious posts and the fun and random posts. I need the variety too. I think way too much and can get on my own nerves thinking about deep things all... Continue reading

For the first time in 2 years, I went for a morning run. Sweating it out, pushing myself, and practicing breathing in and out without thinking felt good, healthy, and right. As I turned the corner into my second lap,... Continue reading

I've been eyeing this rooster art, a piece of local art by Shelly Henning, for about a year now. Chartreuse, a consignment store near Spring Garden Road, is relocating to a barn in Thomasville, NC. Every thing had to go... Continue reading

Monster Cookies definitely live up to the title. The recipe makes at least 24 of them, which puts me in a bind, as most recipes do. I can NEVER eat all of what I make and end up wasting SO... Continue reading

It is almost midnight, and I am lying in bed just having finished watching a Youtube video of Priscilla Shirer speaking. She is one of my favorite Christian speakers. It is almost morning again, and I am a weary tired,... Continue reading

Summer has not been experienced without the pleasure of trying a blueberry-peach something. I made a Blueberry Peach Crumble tonight, and I really have no words. The combination has never crossed my mind until Pinterest came about. Go visit this... Continue reading

A storm is rolling in, so the patio door is open. Nothing is more calming to me than a thunder storm rolling in on the tail of a smoldering summer day. It puts me in the mood to drink wine,... Continue reading

I have been avoiding blogging similar to how I avoid florescent office lighting. It has me scared. I don't have an amazing web designer to ensure my blog is aesthetically pleasing or navigationally efficient. I have NO clue how to... Continue reading
