However, I am an open book. I learned a long time ago to never do anything in private I wouldn't want made public. Then I came up with one fact about myself that maybe some people don't know and that is that I still, at 30 years old, sleep with a stuffed animal. Lately it has been my Ugly Dolls, but most often it is a teddy bear. I know it may be a little childish, but I love to have something soft, cute and cuddle to snuggle when I go to sleep. punching, poking & piercing- an expose on handstitching violence in the scrapbooking industry [part 4]
i'm using the word 'freehand' sorta loosely here...i guess i'll start by defining my 'freehand' process and then maybe you'd be willing to help a girl out with a better-fitting moniker? i generally use this method of paper piercing when the project i'm working on just needs a little somethi...
these are awesome ideas! Thanks so much for sharing these tips.
punching, poking & piercing- an expose on handstitching violence in the scrapbooking industry [part 3]
ok, so now it's time to delve into the serious 'labor of love' stitching category...using patterned papers, printed images and graphics is most definitely detail oriented. i've found that the 'easiest' images and patterns to pierce and sew are in black and white or they have clearly defined ...
I usually do three as well, but I think I might give two a try on a layout I am working on right now.
splitting hairs & splitability
allow me to ellaborate...splitability refers to dmc embroidery thread/floss. dmc is actually 6 little threads that are twisted together to make one big thread. i much prefer the look of thin, clean stitches...i discovered, after many chunky handstitched layouts that you can split the floss...s...

One thing I want to learn is how to tie a frend knot and some cool tutorials for quick little sewing projects or some templates.

that pencil grip on the paper piercer is a great idea.
jump right in...the water's warm
let's begin from the beginning shall we? it all starts with tools...i've been stitching now for several years and have found a few tools that make the process go *so* much more smoothly...and some tools- not so much. so long story short, our first post will be all about tools...namely, the too...
