Customizing the buy link is pretty dope!

Real talk, Sonicbids entire revenue stream is an insult to artists.

I don't need analytics to see that Youtube has surpassed even commercial radio as the number one music discovery tool.

Cosign for entertainment. But if you have a necessity to offer then social media can boost sales a lot.

Ali that would be a great idea but Facebook ads just really don't work as well because of the intent of the end user. People aren't necessarily on Facebook to find music. Also with any type of laser targeting you will be paying close to $1 a click(When you take into account accidental clicks that you still pay for). So it's almost like you are selling your tracks to people instead of having them buying it from you. That type of model is not sustainable. The best thing for artists to do is to deal with sites that people actually go to in search of new music. Sites like Youtube. I would say Soundcloud but Soundcloud has the same problem Reverbnation has. They are both incestual web properties so you will only find other musicians on there for the most part. Major artists have listeners/plays/likes on their Soundcloud because their songs get posted on sites that people go to for new music and that is counted by Soundcloud. But the audience just isn't there for that. And a publicist does much more than just send out a press release. In my opinion publicist is the most important person outside of the actual band, musician, artist.

Soundcloud needs more creative tools. The site is lacking in so many areas where it shouldn't be. When these are the most creative ideas based on what can be accomplished through the sites features, there is a problem.

Sounds like a face saving story.

Not too sure Facebook is worth it for anyone who has to nickle and dime their marketing budget. And even if I had a billion dollar budget I would just spend it on tv and radio which will organically make its way back to Facebook. Ppl hardly talk about things discovered on Facebook unless they also see it on television anyway.

I'm not surprised at all, seeing that Myspace is trying their hardest to build the site back up and people are coming but not returning. This is why there are so many unique visitors.

You usually get an invite from Youtube once you go over a certain amount of views or subscribers I believe. That's how it happened for me.

Best strategy, but what happens when your own network turns into oblivion like Myspace? Keeping people engaged is the trick, regardless of it is through yout platform or another.

I'd have to agree with Gaga on this one.

I can't wait to try the Direct 2 fan marketing. I only have about 1300 subscribers so time to focus on building my subscribers.

This is good, im going to try this but i wish there was an option for people to pay with credit card instead ofmpaypal.

Selling music shouldn't necessarily stops unless it is getting in the way of people listening to it. Many unknown artists give the music away free to get people to hear them. The problem still lies in the fact that even free people don't want to hear it. Price isn't the deterring factor, it's usually is that artist even interesting enough to warrant a click or more. I say sell the music let people know that it holds at least the value of a McDonalds bs cheeseburger....

In my opinion 15% is way to high for the services they provide.

This is interesting, I wouldn't necessarily want this represent my music or me as an artist. But the idea of sex selling isn't new. Don't think Vine deserves any credit here. This could've been done on any video sharing site.
