"Those that know, do. Those that understand, teach." - Aristotle.
Knowledge is good, knowledge is great! But only with proper understanding can one convey that knowledge. It's the difference between knowing the answer to the math problem and knowing the steps to find the answer to the math problem.
It also just may be an issue of audience awareness. My friend and I have very similar knowledge sets but occasionally during conversation we might venture out and start talking about things that the other doesn't understand, completely unaware that we are using words they have no context for.
Anyways, that's my two cents.
The Blessing of Simplicity
I recently happened upon a social media tip from an obviously knowledgeable person. Problem was, he had too much knowledge. “Too much knowledge, how could that be bad?,” you ask. Too much knowledge becomes bad when it becomes a curse that prevents smart people from sharing smart advice that less ...
Cool stuff. I'd be tempted to sit there and doodle something cool for a while though instead of interacting with other people or drinking haha. Hmmm... that might be a good ad idea. A whole bunch of these bottles all with different drawings on them. It'd be interesting at least. Or even signatures from celebs. Good endorsement.
This Bud's for....ME?
Interesting experience with a Bud Light bottle at SFO International from a few days ago. My bottle contained a blank space with a "Make your Mark" line. I wasn't sure what it meant, so I hunted around until I found a "Use a Coin or Key to Write on your Bottle" instruction around the neck of the ...
Depends on the brand. If it's pepto bismol I'm not very inclined to enter to win any kind of prize from some company that sells pink goop. I don't think anyone wants to party if they are drinking pepto. But company pages like GOG.com(good old games) offer out rewards for liking their page or a post or retweeting this or that and not only has one of my friends won but I get excited for things like that.
I think a lot of it depends on context and execution. If a company is giving away something cool like say a free game or branded merchandise that people actually want to wear(a gog shirt has a nerdy appeal. A pepto bismol shirt...?), then people will eat it up and it will generate a lot more positive sentiment towards the company.

Is it just me or does this feel too desperate? Kind of feels like the whole weblebrity craze on YouTube falling all over you for "subscribes"...which is fine for them, but pretty tacky for brands. I also have a strategic concern about the fact we're creating closed walls around our brands a...
