Currently the only updates that address the issue are for 2017-2018. Please see the Autodesk knowledge article for more updates. Or if your product is on subscription you can log a case with Autodesk directly:
Hi David, Autodesk has an update for Inventor 2017(2017.4.3) that fixes the problem. For Inventor 2018 wait for an upcoming hotfix in your Desktop App or Autodesk Accounts.
Hi Bob, please check in Help>About Autodesk Inventor if you're already at any of these builds before installing: Autodesk Inventor 2017 (Build 142) Autodesk Inventor 2017 SP1(196) Autodesk Inventor 2017 R2(199) Autodesk Inventor 2017.3 Update(233) The download should be 882 MB. See the Read Me for known installation issues: If it won't install contact Autodesk or your reseller for help. To log a case with Autodesk with your subscription information: Joanna
Select 'Inventor Reset Utility' in the first sentence and the link to the utility is at the bottom of the Autodesk article under Attachment.
Thank you Scott, I updated the link to the knowledge base article and the Microsoft link.
That's a good option for overriding appearances using window select too.
Select the first geometry, then it should toggle to selection 2 automatically under Selections, and select a face etc on another part. If that check box 'Pick part first' to the right of the 1 and 2 selections is selected, I'll expect you to select a part first then select a face on the second part.
Search in the Windows Start menu for 'Folder Options'. On the View tab, select 'Show hidden files, folders and drives'. The C:\Users\login_name\AppData\ folder should be visible now.
Try the OPTIONS command then the System tab. Toggle the 'Enable hardware acceleration...' option.
The Save to Styles and Standard Editor will indicate if the style needs to be saved to the Style Library, it won't show if the file was migrate or not. But if a style shows up in the list, it was edited locally in the template or it's unique and can be saved to the style library. If you get a material style error, first save any custom or edited materials that might be missing in 2014's material library files. You can use the same Save Styles to Style Library dialog box and save materials to the Inventor Material Library or to a custom material library. The Material libraries are assigned per Project under the Material Libraries and you can add a custom one where custom materials will be saved to.
