via www.uistencils.com This iPhone stencil from UI Stencils makes paper mockups a breeze. If you are really lazy you can even buy their iPhone Sketch Pad. This looks fun, but my drawing skills are so bad that I'd probably mess this up very quickly. I think I'll stick with Balsamiq. Continue »

In what is clearly an apology for her part in the new Star Wars Trilogy, Natalie Portman will be producing and starring in “Pride and Prejudice and Zombies.” It's good to see that some good may come from that Jar-Jar money after all. "Described as an expanded version of the Austen classic, the book tells the timeless story of a woman’s quest for love and independence amid the outbreak of a deadly virus that turns the undead into vicious killers" While PP&Z may not contain the full frontal nudity, jello wrestling, and fresh-baked cookies that Portman fans deserve after sitting... AOL / Ooze from Universal Everything on Vimeo. It wasn't hard to wonder about the intention of AOL's (rather, Aol.'s) seemingly scatterbrained rebranding, with the goldfish, pink goo, and whatnot. I still don't think I understand the logos in the context of AOL's site, but in the meantime Universal Everything... Continue »

I noticed this on my way to work today... it's the bigass coca-cola sign, or WAS the bigass coca-cola sign. Now, I'm not the person who normally glorifies corporate marketing but I truly feel sad that this is being dismantled. To me it has nothing to do with coke, but rather it's a beacon for my experiences in dotcom San Francisco. And a magnificent example of neon-sign design which is harder and harder to come by these days. Coming here blind from Minneapolis in 1999, I had no inkling of what California was like except for a red hot chilli... Continue »
