Hi! What if I want to directly quote a numbered list in a sentence, can I change the numbers in to lowercase letters instead? For example:
(Original text) Major actors in advocacy networks may
include the following:
(1) international and domestic NGOs, research and advocacy organizations;
(2) local social movements;
(3) foundations.
Activists in networks may include but may not be necessarily present consists of: "(a) international and domestic NGOs; (b) local social movements; (c) foundations" (Keck & Sikkink, 1999, pp. 91-92).
