SO glad he was just kidding about leaving the magazine. Cross that off my list of stressors! I'm looking forward to reading and laughing later on today!

I hope the next column won't be Mike's last. I enjoy them and will miss them if he stops writing them. He always looks like he's having so much fun. Thanks for introducing me to his column.

I'm not a challenge sort of person, but I very much enjoy both your podcast and your blog. I'm always looking for new old mysteries and mystery writers who have escaped my attention. You help fill those gaps. Thanks! And a happy, healthy New Year filled with lots and lots of great books!

I ditched Above Suspicion (too much of a police procedural) and am halfway through The Egyptian Cross Mystery and loving it. I know I've read Queen before, probably many, many years ago, but I had forgotten how much I like the books. I have a few on my Kindle, but I'll have to keep my eyes open at my friendly neighborhood used book store.

I bought this a while ago for my Kindle and, after reading your review, I can't wait to read it. But first I have to finish The Watersplash by Patricia Wentworth and Above Suspicion by Lynda La Plante, a library book. If only I could read six books at the same time - literally the very same time! Love your reviews and your podcast, Les.

Hi, Les. I love the Asey Mayo books, too. I lived near Cape Cod for many years and spent a lot of time there. I love the sense of place and I love stepping back to a slower, more peaceful (except for the murders!) time.

I was surprised by how well written the Charlie Chan books are. I love the movies (except for the ones that are almost like comedies) and I love the books. I think Charlie is very different in the books from the way he's portrayed in the movies.

I hope you're feeling up to snuff again soon. I can sympathize because I haven't felt quite so great the past few days. I always look forward to your chatty, personal posts about books, life, and your travel adventures.
