Hey, this is the world famous Sportsmen Quartet here.
Is that the Proto Pup stand about midway down the right side?

Well, Judith Brown was only a member of the family by marriage...so she's just found another way to marry in. Myra Gale was Lewis' third cousin (twice removed.) Heck, most of us don't even know our third cousin and could marry them without a clue. Myra Gale's age (13) is another thing to most of us but where Jerry Lee came from -- eastern Louisiana -- 13 was a prime marrying age for female. In fact, in eastern Louisiana marrying your third cousin was no big deal.

Nope Suzanne, I already was a genius. I was one of only a handful of people who had figured out how to post under the previous system.
Amazing how lefties have to believe that conservatives can't think for themselves. For the record, I NEVER watch Sean Hannity or listen to his radio program. On Fox, I only watch Special Report with Brett Baier and the Shepard Smith (who is, my God, a Democlown) mews programs. Before you make your next specious claim, I don't listen to Rush Limbaugh or Mark Levin or Glenn Beck or Lars Larson either.
I could never understand what was supposedly so great about this place. The burgers were at best medium quality. No way did a Carnival burger measure up to Stanich's or Skyline.

How refreshing, a Democlown who is actually pro-America. You certainly can't say that about the Democlown who claims to be president or the Senate Majority Leader or the House Minority Leader or the Chair of the DNC. Being a Democlown today means you have to hate America and want the US to be like European socialist states...you have to apologize to Muslim countries, screw our new former Soviet-bloc allies and root for Islamic dictators getting the bomb. That's basically today's Democlown.
You know, Bush was obviously lacking but he looks pretty good compared to the socialist we have now.

Used to go past this place weekly going to visit my grandmother who lived at 39th and E Burn. Right along there was Sam's Continental which became the staging ground for most east side whores in later years.

Aren't we kind of forgetting "By the Time I Get to Phoenix," "I Wanna Live" and "Dreams of the Everyday Housewife." All were top ten before "Wichita Lineman" came out. Glen Campbell was pretty much an established star by the time this tune hit the charts.
Yep, that's a really wise way to spend $880K. Barker again proves what a total fool he is.

Electoral College...which is how the president is elected...was 56 to 36.

Funny thing is in 1968 LBJ dropped out and none of these six guys was the Republican nominee. In 1968 Richard Nixon trounced Hubert Humphrey 56% to 36%. It's also worth noting that in 2008, Barry Obozo was still locked in mortal combat with Hillary Clinton for the Democlown nomination. It wasn't clear at that time who the Democlown nominee would be...certainly much less clear than that Mitt Romney will be the Republican nominee this year.

Then you might as well say Joe that First National Bank is still in business. US Bank was sold to a Twin Cities company that decided to keep the name.

Boy!!! They could do a lot in the recording studio even back then. Could these guys carry a tune...even in a bushel basket?

Only one (Norris, Beggs & Simpson) remains of the six companies on the cover.

Well the KXL call sign still exists om FM and when Alpha gets tired of playing radio and sells the stations (or the FCC gets wise and gets rid of the rules allowing duopolies) the new owners can move the call back to where it belongs on 750 AM.

Are you saying Alaska, if it cared about customers, should fly into Lakeview? That, of course, assumes Lakeview had an airport capable of handling anything bigger than a 172. Get back to us once you've built a landing strip that will take care of...say...a 737.
How many Chuck Martins were there. It has to be one of the most popular radio names ever.

The story of L'il Black Sambo was a classic when I was a kid. Never could figure out what made it racist...other than maybe Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson didn't like it.

Go to the Soundworks link Dave gave above and click on the music link. In addition to this great collection there's a four volume History of NW Rock. In addition to cuts from Don and the Goodtimes, Mr. Lucky and the Gamblers and the Sonics...there are recordings of long forgotten NW bands. It looks like I've found something new to ad to the collection.
Michael James Anthony O'Brien (Kiley) was, after Barney keep, Portland's definitive morning man. Craig Walker, Don Wright, even Roger W. Morgan, no one could touch him. Barney Keep only beat by him by virtue of sheer length of time spent in the chair.
