After work on Friday, I decided stay in and tore open one of my red Netflix Envelopes and pulled out Eric Steel's, The Bridge, a documentary filmed over the course of several months that captured 23 Bridge Jumpers off the Golden Gate Bridge. Probably one of the more moving movies I've seen in a long time. I probably cross this American Landmark at least once a week, traveling to places that make me so happy, like Wine Country and various state parks. Where in contrast, the people in this film were filled with so much sadness and apathy. I mean... Continue reading

So it's 7AM and I am sitting on a bus to work, where high speed internet takes a new term, gliding south on Highway 101 at 60+ MPH I can sit here and write this blog, check my email, surf ebay and craigslist for my daily deals and even pay all my bills. It we all really think about how the internet and mobile communication has changed our lives, it's amazing to think we got anything done back in the "good ole days". Gone are the days of having to plan where you will be to meet people as we... Continue reading

Now that the holidays have settled, the end of my big move, and making the final decision of my next career move, I finally feel so much more at peace. For all my nearest and dearest friends, 2009 was a year of heart ache, fear, ups, downs, learning, and a new found appreciation for the most important things in our lives, our friends and family. To to most beloved friends and family, I know 2009 has been a struggle of many of you, but 2010 is going to lead to some amazing things and I am excited to hear about... Continue reading

Nice I love Greenlake, I spent A LOT of time there in High School. I used to row out of the Green Lake boat house, so all our workouts revolved around running around the lake, in the cold, the wet and windy. Good Times...You really need to go back to see all the hidden gems, including Ballard, Fremont, Capital Hill and parts of the University District.

So many of you know, I am back on the job hunt, but this time around, it's not my decision to move on. After the initial disappointment of the situation, I needed to step back, assess the situation and really think about how to execute to the next step of my career. This is the first time where the termination was not on my terms, in essence, this the first time I have been "dumped" in my career. This has become a very humbling experience and one that I probably really needed to level out my ego a bit? Perhaps...OR,... Continue reading

Last night a friend of mine pushed me to reflect on my experience 1 week after returning, and she asked the question, "do you think the changes you experience will last? or is this temporary?". My answer, "these are all lasting impressions". As I started to explain to her on why it was lasting I realized, I really needed to think about this answer. So it's been a week since I have returned from Asia, and a lot of things have happened this week from getting a new apartment to getting back on the hunt for a new job. It... Continue reading

Cambodia: So I am sitting here at the Airport in Siem Reap, thinking back about my 2 days here and it has all been a blur. I didn't really have too many expectations, but this country has set the bar in terms of amazing sights and experiences. My trip started off on a motorbike with my driver, Dara, this small statured local, who actually spoke GREAT english, convinced me on the ride to my hotel, that I didn't need a silly tour, but rather a quick motorbike to cut through tourist traffic to see the temples as well as a... Saigon (NOT Ho Chi Minh) : So It first begins with obtaining my landing Visa, I used this Vietnamese outfit over the internet, and was a bit skeptical, so off I went over to the counter, handed over my printed out copy of my visa application and the young communist officer grunted and told me to sit to the side. As I waited there were several other euro’s and American’s sitting around for there visas as well. There was even a poor American woman that did not have the USD to pay for her visa, as she assumed her single... Continue reading

First of all my friend KN got me into this, as I noticed during our trip she was always "TypePadding", so I thought I would give it a try, because I think a lot and many times I just don't get around to putting things down on ink, so perhaps the Internet is a better format? As expected, this trip has really opened my eyes to many things, but the way my eyes and mind have been widened was not expected. It started in Hong Kong, where I felt for some reason, had this strong emotional connection. I am not... Continue reading
