I love the way you worked with the purple. I think that this would be the perfect piece to add sound to. Great job an all! thanks for the BLOG.
"Pere Lachaise"
This painting was inspired from a trip that I took to Paris in 2000. I've always been fascinated with cemeteries and just had to go to Pere Lachaise, where Jim Morrison of the Doors is buried. I walked into the cemetery on a cold winter day, while looking at my map, I heard faintly in the ...
I have seen this piece a lot, but as it appears it this blog I get somewhat of a spirit
like feeling. It is as if there are ghost present in the painting. I believe if one looks hard enough they might find one or two. Without a doubt comes off different in person.
Angel Bridge
This is the one of many paintings inspired by the Castle Sant'Angelo in Rome, Italy. The bridge is faced with travertine marble and spans the Tiber with three arches and ten angels. Both the castle and the bridge took on the name Sant'Angelo, explained by a legend that an angel appeared on t...
One of your best. Timeless. I would have like to have been able to read more what inspired you . Maybe to much time has past since you created this painting.
The Heart Series
Mixed Media Non-Representational series was created as a cathartic exercise. It was the beginning of a large body of work very dear to me. The heart is most delicate: it must endure the ravages of time and turmoil. This is a relationship piece. It hangs in the home of a delightful couple in M...
I love this one best! It take your imagination and lets you run away. The story really helps this awesome painting.
Shades of Nevermore
In a time before I was six years old I would sit on a box in the front seat of my parents old blue pickup truck and we would travel the U.S. In the summers we would pack up and go from Florida to Indiana to visit relatives. Then on to Wisconsin for adventures of camping and fishing. This piec...
I think I would have liked to see some pale green in the border. This is such a large piece
I feel a extra faint color would have added to it.
Merely This And Nothing More
I did this piece shortly after my mother died. While going through her home and possessions, an emotional task we all will face, I found an old black and white photo of this tree with two people in it, circa early 1900's. There were no pencil written notes on the back as to who the people mig...
Its too bad you do not have more of these. I like this Idea better than the 6x6's.
A slew of music boxes would be aesome!
Gramercy Park, Paris & A Time Long Ago
I did this piece for an Exhibition that required sound to be part of the art work. I incorporated a music box and used images of times past. The haunting tree, from a photo found at my mother's house, is inside on the right side of the box. The front is an image from a fabulous time spent i...
This piece is a lot of fun. I almost wish it was bigger to bring out the whimsical part of the piece. Still a little different and I like.
Yellow Bird
This is my tribute to Tim Burton. I wanted to name the piece from one of his quotes: "One person's crazy is another person's reality". Decided the quote was too long for a title but oh so true. I found the metal bird cage at a recycling plant, not having a clue where it would end up. I am q...
