Yes it's the Cape Town U2 concert tomorrow. Chris and I thought we were going, but weren't certain. A mention of "oh I will organise you tickets happened"... then we realised that it was just a mention and nothing concrete, so we shouldn't get our hopes up high. We wanted... Continue reading

Still fasting chocolate and sweets, gosh .. how many day's left? Yesterday was one of those 'hang over' days. I woke up and knew that like it or not I needed to do some urgent church admin. In the process I locked my keys in the church building and only... Continue reading

So I am at the gym today, almost came yesterday, but the nap with Gabby on beths bed and hogging the remote was too nice. I spent 40 min on the tread mil with Jesus - pure bliss - spirits are high! I started this morning off with a glass... Continue reading

... i haven't blogged for a while, been bogged down! ha ha... so earlier I had apple pie with no custard and it was great. Feb is our month of fasting as a church. Initially I was really confident and thought I would fast: coke light, cakey carbs and chocolates...... Continue reading

I think life can be like a pimple ready to pop or not. But before I start let me say how my day started: the alarm went off - my 'gym' alarm, I turned it off and decided not to go. Then I realised that I couldn't get enough air... Continue reading

Been pretty busy of late, as usual. Had hectic Sunday, super huge numbers in the morning.. if it continues I am not sure where we will put the people - exciting times! God brings them. Then the afternoon was filled with tribulation, not the usual afternoon nap - so glad... Continue reading

On Saturday nights Chris and I both get this feeling... like there is a big project we haven't completed and we are going to have to pull an all nighter just to make the deadline and not to get into trouble. Why is that? As church is different, it's the... Continue reading

I have decided to blog about my life in 2011. Chris & I are very excited as this is the year we go to Oz, to visit friends and attend the Hillsong Conference - this is a first for us. From today I am going to be more diligent about going to gym - as I am officially the closest neighbour, plus I need to stop procrastinating and 'go green' yes recycle! Shouldn't be too hard. I have enjoyed some time off, Boulders beach and the penquins being a highlight, plus and amazing breakfast at Cafe Olympia in Kalk Bay... gosh such a rustic/odd yet fabulous place. Last night I greated 2011 with 6000 others and Johnny Clegg - terrific, he is one huge legend! LOVE him. Tomorrow morning I get to go to church for the first time this year - really excited about that, as I can only relax once I have had a good dose of Church. What else... well yesterday I had one of those heart stopping, sob to your core moments with my dad, it brought me straight back to when I was 18 and he 'chucked' me out... but hey, it's a new year, let's not get into that, by the evening my head and heart were still sore. Thankfully I have a more than amazing man in my life, who was there to negotiate, communicate and bring God's peace into the 'shit'uation. Now on that note I have vowed to a few close friends to clean up my vocab this year. So to start with - as 'rome' wasn't built in a day, I am going to use 'stinks' instead of sucks - what do you think! I hope this blog thing has spell check, if not it could be a rocky ride. The picture below is from this morning when i went with a special friend Liezl to visit new moms in the local government hospital, we belong to a group called Bosom Buddies - they have a website - google it. We come along side, celebrate together and pray for the moms and there babes. What a privilege I have found this to be, this little guy was born this morning at 3:15 am - a NEW YEARS DAY gift from God!Chat tomorrow, hmmm I wonder what to do for supper, kids are by grannies, dogs are by the other granny. I have already killed any new years resolutions of being healthy from day 1, as I had a cheesy hammy croissant, some left over liquorish, digestive biscuits with that nice caramel icing... so pizza would just round this all off very nicely - oh yeah I did have yellow mellon (can't spell the real name) - at least that is healthy. Really looking fwd to the fast I will be doing soon - I am going to farst junk - because if I can give that up for God - that is huge! xxx Continue reading
