I lived in Tretorns and Keds because they HAD to be worn with the tennis socks with the pom pom on the heel. I think I had the socks in every color. I think I still have scars from jelly shoes.

The studio make-over is still going slow but I couldn't resist getting a little something for the walls. I found this on Etsy while looking for some sort of arty screen print poster. I have a mild obsession with type... Continue reading

No fantastic photos of the studio to take today. A giant roll of pink insulation, ready to unfurl, is just not so exciting. Insulation and drywall are the next step. That's going to have to be weekend work when I... Continue reading

Most stitchers I know either have a floss box, nicely carded threads, or little skeins thrown in a sewing box. I am a floss box girl because that's what my mother did. I love the little DMC boxes and bobbins... Continue reading

The blog has not seen much action lately, but the sewing machine has been burning some midnight oil. I finally finished up my doll quilt for Doll Quilt Swap 7 and it has landed in it's new home with Kris.... Continue reading

I am so glad you posted this! I have been longing for a bigger print size than my gocco. I just got my package from EZ screenprint yesterday and then the clouds rolled in! Two days of rain and clouds, in South Carolina! You would think we were in Portland or something, he he.

Did you change the way you organize your floss? I thought you used the little cardboard bobbins. That's what I am doing right now but I don't know that I am loving it.

This year, only two months ago, my son decided he had to dress himself for his first day of first grade. He chose a plaid, short sleeve, button up shirt that was horribly wrinkled and from the laundry that had not been put away. He paired it with cargo shorts, sandals and brand spanking new white crew socks pulled all the way up his legs. All my little dude needed was a pocket protector. I was totally embarrased until we got to school and his best friend had on a hawaiian shirt and a clip on tie!
I did not plan on taking a blog hiatus. The last post got put on the Craft blog, I am still getting a lot of traffic from the 1/4 inch post, you would think I would keep the momentum going.... Continue reading

I think it rocks because of the lacy socks. Lacy socks need a category all their own. I hate socks with the exception of lacy ones. I just call them lace for my feet!

I finally dug into my stash of Japanese fabric and started sewing a Spiderweb quilt (top) and a Wonky Log Cabin baby blanket (above). The spiderweb is going slow. A couple of the fabrics are jacquard woven so they add... Continue reading

So, in the past I have been a little challenged with getting a perfect 1/4 inch seam when piecing quilts together. I would always end up with a wider seam and blocks that were too small. The 1/4 inch foot... Continue reading
