This is one of Heidi Swapp's online classes that I turned into a Christmas photo/journal! This flip book is constructed with 3 chip boards, 1 for the back, and the two that flip to the left and right........ this is of the left side flipped........ This is with both the right and left flipped open........the wreath on the front is just glued on the left half so you can still open it with the little boy still standing on the right side...... Then on each of the sides their are 6 cards that are folded in half to make it... Continue reading

My Dad was a really talented leather maker..........so he takes after his grandfather for sure... A few months ago my niece contacted me and asked if I was doing classes again.......not really but what are you thinking I asked her?????? She wanted to have a class in her home and I agreed.....when my niece decides to do something she goes all out......at first I thought there would be around 10-12.......and it grew and grew.......knowing with so many attending and being a little cautious about being inside I asked if we could do it in her garage and she agreed and it worked out perfect........the weather was warm so we opened the doors and it was... Another one of Jenn's ( Noodle and LOu) wonderful embroidery girls..........I used some hand dyed velveteen instead of the velvet I usually use ( From Paper Crown Waco) and not as thrilled about the outcome of the velveteen.....it frays a little more than the hand dyed velvet from PC. But I had this purple and black that I wanted to try ,so I did! I am sure there will be a time I want it to fray so I will use for another project........ On another Holiday project........a while back I started this Santa face......was a little frustrated because this... Continue reading

If you wonder how you can make those perfect little polkadots to your felt projects all you need is a crop a dile........a few years back just by accident I thought about how can I make a bunch of little circles to make polkadots......and thought why not use the crop a dile since it will go through cardboard and thick mat board why couldn't it work with felt.....so I tried it and for some odd reason it worked and been using it since......... here are some more felt ornaments I have been making using this book......and some are just my... Well as they say Time Passes so quickly.......7 years ago today these two were married in Colorado ..........we could not ask for a more perfect daughter in law. He waited a long time to find her and when he did it was a perfect match. We feel so lucky to have such great kiddos and proud of what they have done and accomplished in each of their lives and their lives together. Today they are celebrating on the side of the mountain climbing somewhere in Wyoming........Happy Anniversary you two......we love you! Continue reading

My mom is always finding things she thinks I may repurpose in my work.........a year ago she handed me a sack full of old and some new clip boards she had been collecting.....I ran across them the other day in the garage and thought if they were sitting around where I can see them I may come up with a use........I have made these sacred hearts for sometime now and love making them out of this velvet and all kinds of old jewelry, hardware, buttons, ribbon, shrink, trim and whatever else looks like it might work to embellish the hearts.... this summer was the year for online classes ............. the two I decided on was from French General Summer Stitch Camp and the one I just finished with Charlotte Lyons Summer Stitch a Long........then I got to thinking why not use some of the techniques and looks from those classes and put together a few more Floral bouquets and vases with flowers..............fun to combine the two! Don't have a clue what they will be when finished but this is it so far. The one above I have already started to do just simple embroidery stitches in some of the flowers....I... Continue reading

Something I have always been interested in is Art and the reason my degree is in Art from Southern Nazarene University.....so this brings me to these paintings above ! For 20 something years the University ( SNU) had a yearly auction at the Cowboy Heritage Museum here in Oklahoma City to raise money for Summer Scholarships for kids.......I was in charge of the live Auction items and loved seeing ever year what was donated . We always had wonderful items........but one year I was drawn to this artist who donated the painting above of the abstract flower vase...her name is... Continue reading

the photo above is before slow stitch and before basting.......... this is why they call it slow stitch.......... you do a little bit here and there ........set it aside from time to time to make sure your lines are half way straight.......mine are a little wonky and they are not the same size but it's suppose to look handmade and organic....... hopefully in the evenings I can just sit and slow stitch........I haven't added any decorative stitches around some of the icon looking pieces and I haven't really decided on any photos to add.......it's a process as you go along... Well this is what has been on my list to try for a while..........marbling with finger nail polish!!!! Yes... can you believe it.......I have taken several marbling classes with the typical marbling techniques and have loved them all.....but this one I can do at home with little products and prep work........all you need is paper, different colors of nail polish, small plastic dish, and a couple of sharp tools such as a nail or wooden stick and water.......that's all. I had so much fun doing this and hopefully I can find some other colors of polish......as you can tell I... Continue reading

Slowly stitching my summer project with Charlotte Lyons virtual class.........we started a couple weeks ago with designing and stitching down the vase and flowers.....then came the basting of the patchwork background ( I am still working on it).....this part has been challenging because of the many ways you can put down the pieces of fabric (then take away many times) to make the right choices and balance of the look you are trying to achieve.......next week will be the slow stitching down of the entire project..........when more of the stitching is complete I will show more of the project. This... Continue reading

Last week's post on the Doodling Ornaments is something that needed to be ordered a bit early so this is how I hope it will work for you and me......their are 8 different shapes.....so you 1. pick which one by the no. ..........no.2 name or maybe just ( peace, joy, merry ) whatever you want ( even the date)..... if you don't want it to be Christmas and just want maybe the circle or little girls dress I can make it just regular doodling without the Christmas theme.....I had some orders for dogs so this is why their is a... How fun would these be on a little girls birthday cake or stuck in the top of a package, stuck in a plant or just about anything , with a sentiment to go along with it.....my idea was to have each of the dolls hold something like maybe if the little girl was 4 she could be holding a glittered up 4 and where the banner ( where the gingerbread, candy canes or paperdoll) is have her name, happy, smile, congratulations whatever the occasion.......they can be totally monogramed however way is appropriate.....they are on wooden picks.......anyway if anyone is interested... I know it's a little early for Christmas but I am going to offer these Monogram/Personalized Christmas Doodling ornaments and because each one is hand doodled I need a little time...... to draw, color, cut out and add a little glitter takes time so hopefully in the next week I can offer these for pre-order..........there is a star, circle, skinny ornament, fat ornament, dog bone for those doggies and a fish for cat lovers......next week I will be a little more specific with the details but for now this is just a little peek.......stop in next week ... Happy Wednesday........... Continue reading

The bracelets are finished I guess........I added the Sari ribbon and applied a sealer to the paint......am not really sold on the durability of the paper clay.....they seem a little fragile and I also broke a couple..........they turned out really pretty but I don't think I will be making them to sell because of them being so fragile.......you may see one of them on my wrist and that is it...... I will say this they will looked great as charms , added pieces on journals, books, wood and furniture........just an added little detail, just not to wear!!!! Happy Monday afternoon...
