Samantha Who?
Netflix & Disney-ABC Expand Streaming Relationship
We got the first hint of this deal a few days ago when Netflix added Seasons 1 - 4 of Lost in HD to Streaming. Netflix & Disney-ABC issued a press release to announce an expanded agreement to stream hit shows such as Lost, Desperate Housewives, and Grey's Anatomy. Lynn Tran on the Netflix Commu...
Sayin' WHAT, exactly?
I'm going to vote for Obama, so I'm not arguing against the candidate.
But this naivete that seems to be surrounding him bothers me. It's the line of thinking that just because we may elect Barack Obama the 44th President of the US that everything will "magically change". Obama will definitely give people something to believe in, but I have a seriously hard time in bowing down and worshiping the word "Change" just because it's Mr. Obama behind the microphone, as opposed to Hillary Clinton, or John McCain, or anyone else like Donald Duck.
I listened to one of his speeches last night on TV, and it was the same old crap you hear from every politician at this level of government.
Don't get me wrong, I will vote for him. I like him. I just don't buy into the automatic "It's Obama, game over - everything's fine again!"
i'm just sayin'

What's cool about Brubeck is the fact that he still plays live gigs. He just turned 87 in December. Not like he's gonna run around like an 80's metal head, but the fact that he is STILL out there from time to time is amazing.

I know this isn't relevant to the point of this post, but the title caught my eye. That's not exactly the most popular Pink Floyd you're quoting from there, Wil. :)

they can polish their medals and sharpen their smiles
Wow. A small private intelligence company that monitors Islamic terrorist groups obtained a new Osama bin Laden video ahead of its official release last month, and around 10 a.m. on Sept. 7, it notified the Bush administration of its secret acquisition. It gave two senior officials access on the...

Wil, if you liked that commercial, then you owe it to yourself to check out this article. Guarantee you'll like this.

have you played atari today?
Oh man, this commercial makes me want to put Escape on the record player, put on my corduroy OP shorts, and spend the entire afternoon playing real arcade games right in my own home! (via Netscape)

I'm a big Bond fan - I love 'em all. Heck, I even liked the film they did with George Lazenby.
But I agree, Casino Royale is a fabulous movie. It's a great MOVIE, not just a great James Bond movie.
I disagree about Die Another Day. I admit the surfing thing was bizarre, and the invisible car was also pretty out there. However, the first 45 minutes or so were incredibly good. Bond being captured and forgotten about was something I always wanted to see. I think Fleming would have loved that sequence.
Casino Royale
I'm a low-level James Bond fan, nowhere near being a Bond geek, but certainly an aficionado. I love all the Sean Connery ones (well, right up until that . . . thing . . . happened in 1983) and I didn't mind the unapologetic cheesiness of the Roger Moore years, but I positively hate everything abo...

I remember this game well.
Wil, do you still have your old Atari stuff? The common games like this are easy to come by if you don't have it. My brother and I still have our 2600 from 1977 along with a healthy collection of cartridges.
I still have a 2600 (that new Flackback 2) on my desk at 3D Realms, the Duke Nukem people. Just played good ol' Combat today, the original Deathmatch. Ha! :)
Games of our Lives: Demons to Diamonds
This week's Games of our Lives is Demons to Diamonds. Anyone remember this game? I loved it when I was a kid. Long before the Atari 2600 unsuccessfully tried to duplicate arcade classics like Pac-Man and Donkey Kong, its programmers created wonderful little games that engaged imaginations as muc...
