Ok! Thank you for not giving anything away! I just finished the book so I do have to say I expected the movie to be as you thought, plus I've seen the trailers and deduced that it wasn't going to be exactly like the book, but it's a movie to entertain and I'll let you know what I think! Hopefully seeing it next week with my girls! Instead tonight I saw Julie & Julia which was great! Steph

Jory, as usual your perspective smacked me in the head and gave warm fuzzies all over. That is what it's all about and that is what the majority of attendees got out of it too. I don't think I will be able to go next year but only because of where I am at in life with babies and family- I look forward to attending again when I can take it all in and be in the right frame of mind and spirit. I appreciate all your crazy hard work and am thankful that who matters "gets" what is truly important. Steph
Wow you are really serious about your parties, girl. This is a great post- I think we all can relate. Steph

I can just HEAR you saying Top Hat. Too funny. You are writing a book! This is wonderful! And I need to read it because I am such a dummy when it comes to TypePad! And WordPress, too. Get on that one next? Steph

I felt a bit the same way. Her behavior is utterly unacceptable in any form. What she did not only makes the Christian blog community look even worse, it chips away at the credibility of anyone else that might come along, or the parents like us sharing our stories that have become our very backbones... I find myself questioning everyone more than before. I really have nothing else to say about it I guess, but great post. Steph

You have said this so well. Steph

It is a very tough topic and one both sides are obviously going to feel passionate about especially if they've had a personal connection. Many years ago I read David Kirby's Evidence of Harm and it was as if he had been writing about the first 2.5 years of my son's life. For the first time things started to fall into place and make sense and i've never stopped learning and researching! Steph Adventures In Babywearing

I also meant to say that I had already commented at the Juicebox Jungle site that I also am not a fan of CP parties. I wouldn't let my children attend one. Steph

I also wish everyone would stop assuming that parents who opt out of vaccines are only doing so because of autism concerns. Many children are in serious danger if they get vaccinated (MINE INCLUDED- neurological disorder, for example) and so like any loving parent would do, I do not put them in danger. I have educated myself for years about the subject and know exactly what my family would do if for some reason my child were to get tetanus, measles, etc. (It's all very treatable.) And after all this research, I also don't buy into the herd immunity argument nor do I believe that vaccines do more good than harm. But that is not something I wish to go into right now and isn't something I expect everyone to agree with! For those that are interested in learning more about the pros & cons, I recommend the National Vaccine Information Center website nvic.org and any books or DVDs or webinars by Dr. Sherry Tenpenny. I think you are doing the exact right thing- you are doing what is best for YOUR family in the season you are in right now. There is no standard mold for everyone. You get to create that on your own. Good post! Steph

Sorry that my comment is not about this post but rather about your Feed Me, See More in the sidebar... I never saw that before and that was the title of one of my posts today. Just wild. And yes, life is simpler here than most anywhere. Why do we keep venturing out!? Steph

So.... DID YOU!? Fawn, I can relate so much. When Noah was on The Diet, I couldn't imagine being able to have another child again. And then of course we didn't know if the other siblings would have the same disease... it was scary. But then one day we pushed through- he was still on The Diet but we kinda got all huffy and puffed up and said we are not going to let this ruin the plans we had for our family. We will NOT LET IT WIN. And so not only did we have our third, we then had our FOURTH! Yes, it's very crowded. But it's wonderful. Steph
