Lemons originated in the Middle East. Lemon trees were first planted in America by Christopher Columbus. Italy now leads the world in lemon production. So let's talk lemons.... Did you know: that drinking a cup of warm water with lemon juice in the morning stimulates the liver to make bile so you will digest food more easily 2 to 3 drops of lemon oil mixed with avocado, jojoba, or almond oil and rubbed on spider... i sit listening intently as my small group leader passionately shares how she has been groomed...prepared....anointed... for ministry. she is reading that verse... the verse that Jesus, upon returning from the wilderness, read in the temple that day: The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of... What I used to make this: One ripe tomato sprinkled with Himala Salt and a dash of black pepper. For the wrap: Bird's Eye Pepper Stir-Fry vegetables, salt, Crisco EVOO spray, FlatOut Multi Grain Flatbread. Tips: When you stir fry the peppers and onions let them get nice and brown. This gives them a caramelized flavor. Note: When you do the math, this technically only adds up to 1 Weight Watchers Point, but I'm counting... Continue reading

I've started looking forward to Tuesdays.....that means morning tea with my friend, Bonnie. Today was my turn to host our get together. I usually set a casual tea right on my coffee table, so we can sit on the couch and visit. We laugh and, sometimes, cry and share things we want each other to pray about as we sip our tea. Here's today's table sans biscuits, which were still in the oven, and tea... Continue reading

I've been busy this morning....living in VICTORY and planning for more. Last week, I spent a considerable amount of time in the ditch; thus it goes, when I don't have a plan....but today: I got up and walked 2 miles with my husband and then went to the pool around the corner from my house and swam laps. VICTORY! Next, I spent time figuring out Weight Watcher points for the 125 Best Packaged Foods recommended... Continue reading

"It's okay to head out for wonderful, but.......... Thoreau, I think, said the mass of men lead lives of quiet desperation. I would like to know how it feels for my desperation to get louder." -- Bill Withers Hear more of his thoughts HERE and listen to one of his famous hit songs, Lean on Me HERE. My thoughts as I watched: We all have to travel through the wilderness to get to the promised... Continue reading

The rain from yesterday is still falling. Although it stopped just long enough for John and I to take a walk/run at 5:30 AM. Bed is made, dishes are done, and now it's time to throw a load of laundry in and cozy up on the couch with some of my favorite reading material, including this enlightening book that is on loan to me from my sister sister. What are you doing today? Drop Me... Continue reading

Outside my window...I hear the ting ting ting of rain dripping on the awnings of my happy little home. I am thinking...about my dad--- sitting, neatly dressed, early mornings on the family room couch gazing out the sliding door glass wall ready for what the day would bring ; I always wondered what his thoughts were. I am thankful for...the opportunity to grow back into the person God created me to be. From the kitchen...I... Continue reading

Sometimes I wake, and, lo! I have forgot, And drifted out upon an ebbing sea! My soul that was at rest now resteth not, For I am with myself and not with thee; Truth seems a blind moon in a glaring morn, Where nothing is but sick-heart vanity: Oh, thou who knowest! save thy child forlorn. ~George MacDonald~ A Book of Strife from the Diary of an Old Soul Running to climb up into my... "You can't trust God generally; you must trust Him specifically." Darrin Patrick How is it that we [I] want a personal, one-of-a-kind relationship with a non-generic God, but keep trying to trust Him in a general, generic way. Every need, every circumstance, every challenge, every battle He has orchestrated or allowed and set before us [me] is strategically designed with this very thought in mind: This is an opportunity to experience the great I AM... Have you young moms and grandmothers heard about JBF? When I called Jenna this afternoon to check to see how she was feeling she said she would like to come over so we could work together to get her items ready for the local Just Between Friends sale this weekend. It took us about 4 hours to wash, iron and tag the clothes she will submit to the sale. I put the first load of... Continue reading

I can't lie; it's been a very difficult year [couple of..well maybe few years] for me. My spiritual life has been dry. I've found myself going, many times, to the well of His Word and walking away thirsty. I've been lonely, battling depression, lying old hurts at Jesus feet, but not seeming to get total healing. But I've gotten help, because I've shared my needs. People are praying for me. And I am seeing results... Continue reading

I guess you've noticed, by now, that my little blog has undergone some changes: I changed its clothes again; I've removed the sidebar items and added most of them as links to the top; but most importantly, I've changed its name [don't worry about trying to find it...the web address will remain the same, for now]. When I started blogging FIVE...yes five...I can hardly believe it....years ago.... I was younger, my nest was well feathered,... Continue reading
