Last night was an increadably amazing, terror infused Halloween Screem Fest at the "Power House of Terror" located in the old power plaint of the insane asylum, right here in Toronto. "The Power House, constructed in 1936, was built by the patients of the Lakeshore Psychiatric Centre. The Power House ceased operation in 1979 when the hospital closed. Holy Cow! What a very contradictory day I've had today. I can't exactly say "I went to the movies tonight," because that would be an overwhelming understatement. I just had the most truly heartfelt movie experience EVER @ the Toronto International Film Festival (tiff) down at the AMC, in Younge n' Dundas Square. Not only was the movie itself a dramatically true, and socially compelling story; but the screening was accompanied by the film’s director, producer, lead actress, another co star and the woman herself, who's story and life we'd just witnessed. All over the country children, and adults alike, are getting up and getting ready for their first day of school. It's a bitter/sweet time for families everywhere. After a long summer break it becomes evident that the kids really do need to get back to school. I've been to many of the high end apartments and condos here in Toronto. Every where from the trendy Young and Bloor area, to one of the Posh Palace Penthouses of King West; and as 'wonderful' as these places are, with their concierge and valet parking. Their fitness centers, conference halls, ballrooms, and recreation rooms. Their indoor pools, underground cities and subways. Their fine dinning restaurants, boutiques and in house salons. Last night was our first night sleeing in the new apartment and it was wonderful to say the least!
