Have the happiest of Happy Birthdays! And in your honor, I have spread the message to all I've seen today.
Happy Don't Be A Dick Day!
When I gave my 2007 PAX Prime Keynote, I said Arcades were more than just magnificent geek Shangri-Las, filled with all sorts of video games and pinball machines. They were a vital part of my generation’s social development. If I beat another kid in a two player game and taunted him mercilessly...
Wil, I understand how certain people can turn great experiences into horrible ones. Sadly, this person is not remembering that you are a human being; not a god, not an immortal, and not beholden to every person on this planet to amuse them like a puppet.
I would like to direct you to a website of a dear friend of mine. She has written a thank you letter to artists; one which, I think, after reading will reaffirm your faith in people. http://www.artandrhinos.com/2/post/2012/05/gratitude-to-those-who-inspire.html
Thank you, for all you have done, and will do.
Video Q&A Post for Denver Comicon
I was not happy that I had to cancel my appearance at the Denver Comicon this weekend, mostly because I knew that there were a significant number of people who bought tickets specifically because I was going to be there. Aaron Douglas did a magnificent job (because he is awesome) replacing me, a...
Well...since you mentioned Phoenix and Origins ... I thought I would ask:
You are going to Dragon this year, right? I mean... it is the anniversary of TNG, and LeVar Burton just signed on, and Frakes and Stewart have been signed on for awhile, and your buddy Felicia just signed on too, so you know you would have a great time .... Just sayin'. :D
Your appearance last year made my whole Con. It would be great if you visited GA again.
something stirs and something tries and starts to climb toward the light
I worked on [REDACTED] today, and had more fun than I thought possible. I can't say anything more until July. Tomorrow, I work on [REDACTED], which is different from [REDACTED], but should be really awesome, too. I can't believe I get to spend two days working with [ACTORS]. (It was a lot easier...
"The lord shall provide. Now, who brought the gasoline?" -- Wouldn't the answer to that be "the lord", seeing how he provides?
These always made me laugh. In fact, it was the Dark Dungeons one that got me interested in D&D in the first place. :D
A co-worker's wife actually collects these little pamphlets. She finds them humorous, and wants to see if she can get them all...like pokemon.
Just in time for Halloween: the animated Dark Dungeons
If you're of a certain age, you may remember the infamous Jack Chick tract Dark Dungeons. For those of you who don't, here's the tl;dr from the Escapist: Dark Dungeons is possibly the most widely distributed piece of anti-game propaganda in the history of gaming. It was first produced by Chick ...
Thank you so much for coming to Dragon this year. I hope your experience was good enough that you will return in future years; schedule allowing, of course.
Meeting you made my entire weekend. I walked away from your table hoping I hadn't "fangirled" too much.
I hope you got a chance to go by the Chessex booth in the Exhibior's Hall. My friends and I tried to work a deal with them to get you 10 pounds of dice, but we couldn't afford it. Oh well. Maybe next time. :D
Thanks again for making it to Atlanta. It was an honor to meet you.
My Dragon*Con Schedule
Here's my schedule for this weekend's Dragon*Con. Friday 1pm -2pm - The Guild Panel with Robin and Amy in the Sheraton Grand Ballroom 2:30-5:30pm - Autographs in the Walk of Fame 6:00-6:30pm - The Guild Photos in International Hall North at the Marriott. 6:30-7:00pm - Star Trek Photos in Interna...
I wanted to compliment your performance in the moment Parrish learns he isn't going to Titan. Your initial expression held all the smug satisfaction of a man who was sure he was accepted. As the message was "read", your eyes reflected confusion, followed by disbelief, and finally extreme disappointment. I was pleasantly surprised by the disappointment. I expected anger and denial, but saw the nice side of Parrish. I actually felt sorry for him.
So much happened in your eyes in so little time. It was lovely to watch.
Eureka: This One Time At Space Camp
In a few hours, I will be picked up and taken to the set for my last day on Eureka. Though I've known this day was coming for a couple of weeks, and I've been trying to prepare myself for it, I'm not ready. I don't want this to be over. I don't want to say goodbye to my friends. Monday, we had o...
I hate that you had to find out about a show cancellation from the 'nets. Someone at the network formally known as Sci-Fi needs to look for the security leak. It is never easy to lose a job unexpectedly. I hope you will bounce back quickly and find another outlet for your acting.
...and if they can't get Bob Newhart, maybe they can get someone from St. Elsewhere.** There is Kevin to consider.
**Kids, ask the parents, again.
Saying goodbye to Eureka
Last year, my friend Amy told me she was moving from writing Leverage to writing Eureka. She asked me if I was interested in playing a scientist who was kind of a jerk. I said "yes" as fast as I could, and ended up playing Doctor Isaac Parrish for seven of the ten episodes in season 4.5. When se...
Have the happiest of Happies!
I had a similar moment a month ago on my 38th birthday. I realized I was closer to 40 than I was to 30. I then remembered celebrating my mother's 38th birthday and a momentary time paradox loop was created. I'm still trapped somewhere in the aftermath. :)
Spock is not impressed that it's my birthday
During w00tstock last week, I mentioned that I was turning 38 this week. After the show, Anne told me that I was, in fact, turning 39. In the few seconds that it took me to do some math, I lost a year of my life. Apparently, this is the sort of thing that happens when you get to be my age, which...
A most excellent episode! The Parrish/Fargo relationship excites me for one very particular reason: alternate timeline. Parrish has a past with Fargo: which we get to hear a bit about (good ole' grandpa Fargo paving the way - excellent bitterness by the way). Yet, Fargo has no idea about that past, and Parrish has no idea that Fargo has no idea. I can't wait to see if there are opportunities for you, as Parrish, to notice there is something "wrong" with Fargo. It may not be a direction in which the show wants to go, but wouldn't it be interesting if Parrish, not just Zane, starts to realize something is different? I know filming has probably finished for the entire season, so there is no changing it now, but I can hope. :)
Oh...and nice Whovian reference.
EUREKA: Glimpse
Last night's Eureka, Glimpse, was my first episode as a non-enraged-by-the-enraginator-device Doctor Parrish. I had completely forgotten about Fargo's commercial for the Astraeus project at the top of the show; when I saw that, the excitement of shooting the entire season came flooding back to m...
POOP IS FUNNY!! Thanks for the late night giggle.
this is really gross. you have been warned.
There is a tree near my house, that has probably been there for years, just doing its tree thing, watching patiently as families come and go, empires rise and fall, and Isengard is flooded. I'm sure it's a beautiful tree, cheerfully trading carbon dioxide for oxygen, providing shade, and most li...
