Yeah I noticed he didn't mention Afghanistan or Iraq. I was surprised and disappointed by that missed opportunity. But is he light years better than Obama? No question.

As one of the "Banned by Michael Yon" people, I can honestly say that the mockery factor is now completely gone for me. I thought it had gone too far with his craven hatred of CJ but this latest attack on SA is completely insane.

All life is precious. This is a horrible incident for everyone involved and for our troops and allies still in harm's way. I have been one of the few in my circle to want to remain in Afghanistan for the sake of the good work we've been doing and for the kids and women. It's time to come home.

I think our feckless and bloated congress still means something. It's our beloved Constitution that doesn't.

I'm not a warrior but I've supported the efforts of our military in the GWOT since the beginning. I have a high degree of confidence in our military might - we certainly have the best counter-insurgency it seems. I suppose without thinking too deeply about what victory might look like, the word "containment" comes to mind. Can we contain terrorists and their insurgency? Is it possible to keep it "over there"? IDK - but as W used to say, the evil doers will always be with us. I believe that too.

I love the Aussies! They have been great partners in the GWOT. And their former PM, John Howard, is a patriot! Cheers Australia!

Thank you Matt. I am someone Michael Yon banned from his FB page almost a year ago. When I read of Chazray's death, I was grieved, heartbroken, and outraged at Yon's outrageous account. I am so glad I read COL Kolb's responses. I can only hope it is in the hand's of Chazray's family.

This is great! I am a big supporter of therapeutic riding -- we use it all the time with the kids I work with. I'm so glad to see it used with our vets.

hm. well internal, operational questions SHOULD be asked and assessments/changes if needed, made. such is the risks of these missions. i don't mind speculation especially from those with expertise and insight. however i personally refuse to engage in the idiocy of careless finger pointing which seems to be rampant. i choose to mourn the loss of our dear people and celebrating with others their incredible exceptionalism.

THIS --> "They are as humble in their public presentation as fighter pilots are ostentatiously obnoxious. A fighter pilot may feel that he has something to prove, a SEAL knows that he does not. At least not before mere mortals. The only beings that a SEAL feels obligated to prove himself to are his God and his teammates. And in the places that they insert themselves, God is rarely in the room."

hey i saw jacob interviewed on Fox News (i think by hemmer)! he was so shy, and humble, and self effacing about his actions. he seems a terrific guy and very deserving for any honors that come his way because of this action.
