Haha so funny. I read your headline and then saw the first picture and thought: but that's a lovely shade of grey. Then I saw your comments and in the end I could imagine the colour it might have. I think every now and then such non-colour ends up in all our stashs. I prefer pairing it with another yarn as most non-colors can be upcycled super well by pairing it some proper colour. There is always something that goes with a non-colour, be it a similar yet proper colour or like pairing your greige with lets say a lime green. Then you end up with a nice bulky yarn and can make a hat or something similar with it.
The ugliest yarn in the world?
I took this picture inside...(I wish it actually WAS this color) I moved right next to the window...(and I'm still liking THIS color, which--trust me, is NOT the color it is in real life!) I finally dragged the yarn outside (in 12 degree weather, thank you very much!) and ...
I know it has been commented here before but this is such a lovely colour! Does it feel as soft as it looks like?

:: I'm so, so close to finishing Julia's orange sweater: just six or seven more rounds of ribbing on the sleeve, then pick up and knit four rounds or so around the collar, and finished. It's a little embarrassing that it took a year to finish; once I set my mind to it, these sleeves went so qu...
What super lovely colours you are working on. This is autumn at its best!

:: I've shifted gears a bit in my knitting. I'm well into the lovely lace pattern in my Castle sweater—and I have to say, it's such an odd thing, knitting great big grown-up sweaters. It feels huge, probably because I'm used to knitting much smaller things, and I keep thinking it's going to be...
Still laughing at heathermama's comment but seriously: why should knitting needles be a security problem on some flights while the exact same needles don't pose a threat on others... I always wonder. Glad you made it home with only the even though super unfair) loss of your needles and that you even could pick up your stitches without a problem.

. . Notice something missing in the first photo? The needles? They are still vacationing in Brussels. . I knew better. I know that domestic (US) air travel allows knitting needles, and I know that international travel often doesn't. I might have decided to try flying home with Prairie...
If these yarns are all that you keep in stash, that is really not hoarding. You should see what I have... all those yarn my family kept for ages (and that hasn't grown better in that time...) ;-)

Knitting and Crocheting Blog Week Day 4~~ Color Review What are your favourite colors for knitted or crocheted projects. Have a think about what colors you seem to favour when yarn shopping and crafting. Only after writing this part of your post should you then actually look to see what co...
I don't know if that where you are but here in Germany we have something that helps connect farming with suburban life: outside of many cities farmers offer a big piece of land cut into small pieces for rent for the season. Here you can do small scale farming and you meet other people experiencing growing their own vegetables and the like. I think this is a great chance to bring just a little bit of farm life into your life.
Thoughts on Knitting and Farming and Life in General
I am certainly the slowest knitter ever. A year and a half ago, when I first learned to knit, I was actually pretty quick. I learned to knit at the beginning of Lent and had three (or maybe four) shrugs knit and blocked and ready Easter morning. Spring faded into summer and whatever autoimm...
