I would choose Tawny which is a little outside the box because I don't normally choose pinks. I would make a lovely pair of short socks with the pattern I found on Ravelry yesterday.
I would have to say my favorite tradition was the making and eating of my grandma's pierogies. I love them, but no one in my family likes them, so I don't get to have them very often these days. Maybe I'll start a tradition for me?

My mom taught me to knit when I was 6 or 7 and I made something simple like a scarf, then I decided it was boring and didn't pick up needles until I was out of high school. Around the same time, my aunt taught me to make a mile-a-minute afghan, so I learned to crochet. For both, I went out and picked up "learn to" books and taught myself. I'd say I've been doing both with fair frequency for about 30 years now.

I buy tons of knitting and crochet books and magazines and I love to read through them, but the book I enjoyed most was "The Girl with the Dragon Tatoo".

I did not participate in a knitalong, but did participate in sit-and-knits at our local yarn shop and with friends at the local Michaels store.

The best gift was a gift for our newborn son. It was a sweater with matching socks from my mom.

We decorate a tree. The kids put the decorations on it. We have no theme, just whatever ornaments we like and have at hand. The tree is different every year and that makes it fun.

I would love to try brioche knitting. I have a book, just need the time!

I knit a baby afghan for my son's speech therapist. I had been given some Baby Clouds yarn that I wanted to use and this opportunity came along. It was kind of a pain to use, but the afghan turned out really nice. I usually take pictures of everything I make, but this one got away from me. If I get a picture of her with the baby and afghan, I'll post to Ravelry.
