Jennifer, I do agree that many things do revolve around the idea of balance. Work and Home, Process and Product, Reading Late at Night and Sleeping just to name a few. I am still wrestling with volume and complexity. I have been grounded for many years in the ideas of Stephen Krashen and volume of reading, but the question I struggle with still is, "Does a reader grow if she or he ravenously consumes material that doesn't stretch his or her thinking?" Since I only work with children for one year of their life it is hard for me to really know. Thanks, Tony
