Why wasn't this covered? Sexual identity has nothing to do with it, these two women are heroes, absolute heroes.

Just remember that you need to get help with it, don't try to cope a bit longer when you know it's a possibility. You've had an extraordinary experience which is bound to affect you for a long time yet. Take care of yourself xxx

I'm guessing perhaps that the Flyjin are being viewed as cowardly, no matter what their reasons, because they bailed out when the going got tough. I can imagine that locals appreciate the fact that not all gaijin have left them in the lurch, especially businesses who rely on tourism and people with money still going out and spending to help their economy stay afloat. Everyone is important right now in one way or another :)

I'm sure the crystal clear memory of what has just passed will have rattled you this time. Be wary of PTSD, especially when you have left Japan and no longer have to cope xxx

I think you should carry on with the retrospective, it will connect your story more with the current events and how Japan made its way into your hearts and minds to get to the present time. It's weird, I feel sad for you too, although selfishly relieved that you won't have to live with the quakes any longer. I really want to visit Japan one day, it's going to take a shedload of cash though, so it won't be any time soon sadly. Or perhaps not so sadly, the last thing they need is a neurotic tourist to counsel while they're trying to sort themselves out!
