Kim,
You are so blessed to be able to interview and write for all those stories. I know they all shone the guests and their homes/stores perfectly. I love old vintage things, not only for their inexpensiveness and decorating value, but because I love to savor the past and the old-fashioned values it holds. What a beautiful thing vintage is, and what a beautiful person you are, as I can see that you also value vintage items for their face value, but for who owned them, what kind of person they were, and what values they had.
Enjoying the Moment & A GIVEAWAY!!!!!
Once upon a time, oh let's say WAY back in November, I was sent by a VERY SPECIAL SOMEONE to a BEAUTIFUL store in St. Cloud, Florida. I had the honor of photographing Vintage Soul for Romantic Country magazine. The lovely and VERY talented owner's name is Debbie - you may visit her here. ...
I agree, Kim. I don't want to look like everyone else either. There are lots of good clothing, which people donate everyday, either because it has grown too small, too large, or either they have grown tired of it, and it is a very good find for someone else.
Laundry Day
It is laundry day. Now it isn't laundry day because I have an official wash day, however. Do you? No, I simply wash on demand. Again - random. Oh am I ever SO random. Anywho - I found a few new clothing items while thrifting the other day. New to me - but not actually new. I am w...
Oh Kim, I would love to have that orange tree here. :) No worries, you will have your garden back up to its beautiful and charming self in no time. Glad it has warmed up enough so that you and Maggie can go out and play. It is even in the 50s in New York now for a few days, and then we will have a spell back in the 40s.
Spring Fling
Well you know what this unusually cold winter did to our Daisy Cottage garden. And winter wasn't kind to our side yard either as evidenced by these sad looking plants. And there are brown leaves everywhere ... *click on photos for larger view But I see that some things weather...
LOL, Kim. I live in New York, transplanted from Tennessee. You are right; it's very cold here! Your nights are like our days, but I love it! When I moved here, I was excited to think about all the snow I would see. Well, truth being said, there is more snow here than is usually in Tennessee, but I am still disappointed! Of course, I am excited about spring and the flowers too, as all seasons have their time. :)And I'll take your pear that you don't want. My husband and I are raw fooding, and we haven't met a fruit we don't like. :) My husband is allergic to the seeds in strawberries and kiwis, but he does like them.
I Can't Bear ...
I know many of you giggle and simply don't believe me when I say that it is cold here. It has been a VERY cold Florida winter. It really has. Right Florida girls? And of course I know that our cold is not your cold - my dear northern sisters and brothers who have been enduring the kind of...
How beautiful! I love what you did with the shower curtain! It looks brilliant on the table! Thanks for all the tips! Have a great day.
Curtain Call
Well of course you know that I love my Goodwill. I say "my" because I tend to claim everything as mine. I love love love to share but I love things to be mine. You know, like "my post office." No my post office isn't built on a slope. It was windy on this day and I kind of got blo...
How sweet Kim and how cute is Maggie! I am actually going raw today, so the orange juice will do me fine. :) Have a great day!!
Salty or Sweet?
Yum. Fresh Florida orange juice. Here, have a seat and enjoy a glass with me ... And don't mind her - she's just going to stare at you like that until you pick her up and hold her in your lap ... Anywho, I thought I'd make us something to eat ... But first you n...
May you have a wonderful March. As much as I would love to see a little sunshine come my way, I am not yet ready for what comes after - the humid summer. Glad to see you are feeling better!
Hello March
Hello March. My, you are beautiful. I cannot wait to lay my eyes upon you, embrace every single thing about you, completely inhale you, and unabashedly live you. And I will, just as soon as I finish my coffee. ;-) Kim
I don't drink wine, but I do ♥ water. I like tea too, though I usually drink herbal teas (peppermint, chamomile, elderberry and licorice with wild cherry bark, etc.)I also love most juices, especially those straight from the juicer, and occasionally I like a pepsi or a cream soda for a treat. Hope you get to feeling better!
Playing Favorites
Speaking of wine .... This wine is my new favorite. Let's just say it is fabulous. Look at the darling label. Me being me - the label is VERY important. Oh I know, the taste should be, and it is, but the label? Now that IS important. ;-) This is a red ...
Oh it must be warm in Florida! :) It's still cold here in the north. Thanks for the invitation; I'll be glad to share the warm temperatures with you for a bit.
Picnic On The Porch
Fresh air. A sunny quilt. A bottle of wine. Peanut butter & jelly. A few strawberries and a handful of Triscuits. And a little back porch. That's all we need for a picnic, right? Come join me. xo, Kim
Thank you for sharing so many notes about your life when you were young. I wish I had a treasure box full of my childhood, but I have lost all that due to my life being so unstable at times. Memories are so precious though, and my mind is full of them. Bless you!
Dear Diary
I have a cedar chest that was given to me by my parents for my high school graduation present. It stores all kinds of treasures - like notebooks filled with handwritten notes from my BFFs, love notes from boyfriends, year books, Girl Scout badges, marching boots, awards, pictures, short s...
Maggie is so adorable anyone would be crazy not to want to be her mommy, but she belongs at Daisy Cottage with you! :) Enjoy your nesting. I need to do some nesting of my own... if it weren't for school.
Nesting
No, I'm not pregnant. Those days are long long gone. I'm just in the mood to nest. To fluff. To play. To twitter about. How about you little one - are you in the mood to nest too? My music is on, my scented candle is lit, and while Maggie pouts, I'm going to nest a bit...
Oh precious Maggie. I know she missed you! Speaking of a dog missing a human, I saw the best movie last night. It's called Hachiko http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1028532/. If you ever get a chance to see it, please do! Glad you had a good time though. It's great just to get away sometimes.
Honey, I'm Home
I'm home. I missed you. And I thank you. And I really really don't deserve you. But thank you so much for all of your sweet and generous comments on the Giveaway post. Right back at you too. You mean the world to me. And Sue..... YOU WON THE GIVEAWAY! Kim, Your blog was one ...

Kim, I love aprons too. A few months before I was born my great grandmother on my father's side died, but before she did, she had a dream that I would be a girl and made me the cutest little apron. Due to so many problems and so much moving in my life, I have sadly lost it, but it has left me with a love for aprons.
Hanging Out
I've spent the past several days at home, finishing up a few writing projects, and dreaming of some new projects for Daisy Cottage. There is SO much that I want to do, like work on the blue office and the back porch and the front porch and the ..... well you get the idea. I feel one of t...
Yes, Kim, it's true. You do touch us all. I have about 5 or 6 blogs I keep up with (I wish it could be more, but I am a student and don't have alot of time) but your is absolutely my favorite one!
Falling in Love
Thank you. Jack has read EACH AND EVERY beautiful comment and his heart is so full of gratitude for all of you. I can't even begin to thank you enough for what you so generously gave - which would be YOUR heart. Dawne sweetly asked: " Did you ever think when you started this blog t...
Oh and she was absolutely beautiful!!!
For Tabatha
Dear Daisy Cottage Family, I received an email from a very sweet man, Jack, a little while ago. With his permission, I am going to share it with you too. Dear Kim, My name is Jack Benke. My beautiful wife Tabatha passed away last Saturday at the young age of 42. She had been battling...
Jack, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. What a sad thing! I am glad to hear that you will continue to have comfort in Kim's blog, as we all do here. Kim, thank you for sharing the story with us. How touching! I can see why the tears continue to flow. Truly it is an honor that Tabatha was able to find comfort in your blog while she was still on this earth.

Oh, I bet she is not loved one bit. :) Such a cutie she is! I would give anything if my NYC landlord would allow dogs in his apartments. :(
It's A Shame ...
It really is. It's a shame that I don't love her. I should work on that don't you think? ;-) HAPPY WEEKEND EVERYONE! I hope you have a fabulous one! Love, Kim
Thank you so much. I will have to pass though. Bad for my asthma - trying to raw food. You are so kind though. :) Have a wonderful day!!!
Sometimes ...
Sometimes you just have to have a donut. And then you have to have coffee. And then you have to have another donut. And then ... well, never mind. Please take one. Don't let me eat them all. Because, ummm - because YES - I CAN. ;-) Kim
Kim, your crocheted blanket is beautiful! Wonderful addition to your home! You are right - situations, such as you described, in the lady's house, are very sad, indeed. I was married to a man who use to yell at me. I have divorced him and now remarried. He is now a great friend to me.... to bad it takes divorce to learn. I hope they will be OK too.
Bringing Home The Blanket
I am so happy that many of you have found your color. I am so happy that you are coloring your world with what makes YOU happy. So so so so so happy. I would like to think that this crochet blanket is happy now too. My sister and I went yard saling yesterday and we luckily stumb...
Kim my favorite colors are the same as yours! Red, yellow, green and blue. They are primary colors and go together so beautifully. Red and green are my favorite. I also like colors like coral and melon, but I love red and green!
So?
Yes, as my children will tell you, I can occasionally nag. And I can be relentless when I feel strongly about something and I usually won't give up either. And if I care about you and love you? Well, look out. So, fair warning - I am going to nag you a little tiny bit now, because you...
Welcome back Kim!! We missed you! Thank you for the cupcakes. I am raw fooding now, so all I can do is look at the eye candy. It looks delicious!! :)
Cupcakes, Cookies & Coffee
How are YOU? I MISSED YOU!!! And I have some cupcakes and cookies for you! I didn't make these sinfully delicious goodies - my talented friend Erica did. BUT I have managed to eat a gazillion of them. Does that count? ;-) Please help yourself ... I have b...
Oh I will miss you too! Enjoy your break!
Time Out
Hi Everyone, I'm going to take a LITTLE time out from the blog. I will be back soon - I promise. You won't even notice that I'm gone. ;-) I have some deadlines to meet and a few other activities that are needing my undivided attention. All wonderful things too. But, I will miss you. ...
Thank you. I'll take mine fried please. Have a wonderful breakfast!!
Eggstra! Eggstra!
How do you want your eggs? Over easy? Scrambled? Fried? Let me know while I put the coffee on. xo, Kim
Hi Kim,
Looks like you are doing great with the camera! Love all the beautiful photos!
But That's Okay
Well it DID snow. Yes it did. It snowed north of us, a little tiny bit south of us, a couple of blocks away from us, and literally down the street from us. And I missed it. Yep. I still haven't seen snow fall from the sky in my lifetime. I tried to find it - to see it sprinkle down w...
