A chef I know told me that he has used wonton wrappers to shortcut making ravioli. They are made of the same ingredients and available in the produce section of most grocery stores. :-)
Had you seen this? http://www.theglutenfreelife.com/articles/controversial-post-on-facebook-by-chef/ My husband is gluten-sensitive, but doesn't have full blown Celiac's disease. Makes us pay attention to that kind of thing, though.

I think this holiday is the one with the least pressure to perform. I love it,

I was listening to The Story podcast and heard about Ruby Jane. Who wrote Waltz on a Stick (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7GoJmLB1Uh4) named at a state fair for obvious reasons. So I had to share.

I use Google Reader. It shows me new posts but not comments.

It's hard to see it because for now it's all private showings. My son and I saw it at a chuck on MLK Blvd in Chapel Hill about a year ago. (The one that advertises that God's still listening.) A friend has a copy, though. I'm thinking of showing it in my living room when I can get my hands on it.

Ah HA!!!! And if you reply to what I said, rather than reply as a separate response to the original post, I DO get an email notification of the response. Veeeeeeeeeeeeeery interestink. That was a first.

I don't love Typepad because it doesn't let me know when there's been a response to something I've written. I have to remember to check back. :-/ I'm glad you've found an acceptable substitute. I hate it when something I really like that just disappears.

Have you checked A Southern Season? Just a thought. Or http://www.amazon.com/Farms-Stoned-Wheat-Thins-Crackers/dp/B003XNYA2A/ref=sr_1_5/177-6351670-8120012?ie=UTF8&s=miscellaneous&qid=1282511061&sr=8-5

Yeah, but buying a tomato plant is never a bad thing and they ARE cheap. But that's a whole different issue. I think it's a question of priorities. I will pay the occasional "petroleum tax" in order to have a fresh pineapple. I skip strawberries out of season because I'm not willing to eat what they do to them to ship them to me. (I used to know a trucker and he put me right off 'em.) I have started gardening a little because I think it's silly to have this bigass yard of lawn, that requires mowing (hello more petroleum tax), and pay for stuff that thrives in our climate. I'm NOT a great gardener, but I'm learning. You can't get more local than picking blackberries off the wild bramble in my back yard and I can guarantee they're organic. Have you seen the film "Fresh"? It's the upside to Food, Inc. There's a guy in ....Milwaukee, iirc, who is teaching people with low incomes how to grow fresh vegetables for themselves in limited space.

It still has to get from the rail yard to the store. That's not an accurate depiction of fuel used. AND eating locally means you're eating what's in season, not just what can be forced to produce 12 months out of the year. Locally grown tomatoes are picked when they are ripe, not shipped green and allowed to ripen off the vine. The difference in flavor is dramatic.

I was disappointed that I found the wine unimpressive.

Smoking is allowed in all areas of Whiskey. If you want a drink without smoke, this isn't the place. When I called to check, I was told that I can drink outside where smoking still happens, but there is more ventilation. There is no non-smoking area.

I really enjoy collage art when it is done well, and these piece are excellent. I am a little sad to see all 3 women with black eyes. Was this intentional or Freudian?
