protect a cow
Ralph Laurino is a leading proponent of cow protection and an authority on rational grazing methods.
Interests: Ralph Laurino is the founder of Protectacow Farm Sanctuary and Organic gardens in Port Royal Pa. Founded in 1985 thus making it one of the oldest privately held farm sanctuaries in the western world. The farm is based on the principle of equal vision, that every living entity is part and parcel of the Supreme Creator and is therefore deserving of respect. Early in the history of the sanctuary Ralph helped to introduce the principles of rational grazing and reintroduce ox power to America. He also participated in educating masses of people about the benefits of ox power by participating in festival parades in many of the major cities of the Eastern United States. While receiving his teaching degree in communications from Pennsylvania State University he also became interested in ancient history, scripture, and archaeology with special focus on the Vedic literature of ancient India. After graduating in 1983 he spent 1 year touring India and Japan visiting the ancient pilgrimage sites and meeting with various seekers, sages, and yogis, all the while developing his ideas for a new direction in agriculture. Upon his return he purchased the land now known as Protectacow Sanctuary where many hundreds of animals have been spared the slaughterhouse and have become productive citizens of the farm. Ralph's motto is "Be a friend to every living entity and the secrets of the universe will be revealed".
