Love is a temporary madness. It erupts like an earthquake and then subsides. And when it subsides you have to make a decision. You have to work out whether your roots have become so entwined together that it is inconceivable that you should ever part. Because this is what love is. Love is not breathlessness, it is not excitement, it is not the promulgation of promises of eternal passion. That is just being "in love" which any of us can convince ourselves we are. Love itself is what is left over when being in love has burned away, and this... Continue »

The weirdest thing about her being gone is how clean her room is. The bed is made every morning. There are no mysterious mascara marks nor toothpaste stains in the bathroom. There are no lethal hairbrushes nor open nail polish bottles on the floor to attack my feet. There are... Continue »

OK, so I have some news to share with you. Today, April 22nd, is my last day at SAY Media. Including 2 years at SAKK and 4 years at Six Apart headquarters in 548 4th street, this has been an incredible venture and terrific experience for me to work with all of smart people on numerous exciting projects, but I figured it's time to move on. I should have a lot to write, but instead i'll dump some memorable pictures :) Man, that's a lot of memories. I'll send everyone a big hug and thank you for making my days at Six Apart/SAY so much fun! P.S. I'll take a quick vacation next week, and will start a new gig... Continue »

'Kimmie' is not my given name. My legal name is much longer and doesn't sound sexy when murmured under one's breath. Not like 'Kimmie' is oh-so-sexy but give this a whirl in bed, 'Hello, Khanh Kim Phuong Nguyen'. While you... Continue »

After 52 weeks of sewing, I'm allowing myself to be lazy and break with the format of The Weekly Creation. So no special photo of the dress on the dress form. Instead, here's a photograph from our own holiday party. The dress turned out okay, although it was a bit tight. I also hand-beaded some details at the neckline but didn't take a photo of that. (I told you I'm being lazy!) I do have to say that part of the reason I'm being lazy is because I've been spending the past week redesigning The Sew Weekly for 2011 and... Continue »

I remember telling my mother that I had a "corazonada" (a hunch) that the baby would come early. She was happy to hear this, and I was so sure that my instincts were on target that I started to wrap... Continue »

The crowd in this place was also sorta disappointing. We happened to be there on some Santa night and had to deal with a TON of drunk people dressed as Santa sit in booths making out with each other etc. There was one person that our whole table was betting on whether or not she was going to lose it right there at the table. I know Lime can't control this type of behavior but it speaks for the type of crowd that goes to this place on a Saturday night. via www.yelp.com LOVE LOVE LOVE that this reviewer is... Continue »
