I’ll be the first to admit that poopy is a funny word. It is a fun word to say, and I am certain I have said it more than I can count on my fingers and toes. There are websites dedicated to poopy humor and just about everyone I know giggles if the word poopy is used as an adjective, a verb, a noun, or as an expletive. Poopy has also become my 4 year old’s favorite word. Noone is safe from poopy in my house. My daughter has a terrific vocabulary for a 4 year old. She uses words... Continue reading

Love this! I am in my late 30s and feel as if I am still evolving. One of my latest endeavors is learning to play the guitar - and then I will start a band. :) ha!

My hubby is an xBox 360 addict - COD and Halo. I know my kids will play because their father plays all the time...and I will complain. Many of our friends' kids have those little games you carry around - gameboys? I am not a fan, and there will need to be a ton of begging and bribing of mommy if they ever want one.

It is definitely painful to be on the receiving end of a bully. I was there most of my childhood. So glad you are okay now, and learned how to deal with bullying to give support and guidance to your children if they are ever in the same situation. My daughter has had encounters with mean girls. She gets very upset. I told her to say, "You aren't being nice and I don't want to play with you right now. When you are nice again we can play together." Then walk away. I hope it works! So hard as a parent to even THINK your child could be bullied.

I totally connect with what you wrote, and I am sure just about every mom does! There is a thought that resonates with me everyday that my husband shared with me. It was a day when I was questioning myself and crying, he said: "Be yourself and be mom. You aren't X friend or X friend, you are your own unique self and are the perfect Kristin-mom." I make choices for my children that I feel good about, are reasonable for my lifestyle, and make me happy in the deep least I try to. Now, I am questioning that...just joking. :)

Jim Roberts brings up a very good point concerning multiple intelligences. Maybe Finn needs to be doing jumping jacks while learning site words - you never know what'll work! Or play his favorite music in the background when you read to him or are doing word puzzles, or whatever you do at home.:) Hang in there - it'll happen and you'll forget you were even worried about it.

I get dressed, and no matter what I wear I put a hoodie or fleece sweatshirt over it. I agree with P.O.P. - wool socks are a best friend in the winter.

One thing I'd like to mention, because a few moms have brought this to my attention, that seat turns into an "actual" booster when she hits 4 yrs/40 pounds. I called it a booster, but I should have called it a transition to a booster. You can see the two red "latches" on the sides of the seat - that is where it comes apart when she is ready for yet another upgrade.
