Awesome idea - but how would Americans react? We set cars on fire after an NBA game last night (appropriate reaction? I think not.). What would WE do if our bar tab was $73K??? These 2 minutes and 3 seconds make you think.
The $73,000 Bar Tab
It’s last call on a busy Saturday night and time to pay your bar tab. You’re handed the check and realize while your spirits may be high, your bank account isn’t going to be for much longer. High bar tabs happen. But, imagine being handed your tab and seeing you are $73,000 in the hole. In April...
I'm only an assistant organizer but I'm with all those who DON'T like the new view. All of our groups are TRYING to get our members to be more active but sometimes they're just not. To have the bulk of the page dedicated to the same 5 OLD comments 'cause no one has commented in weeks is silly - we'll lose people 'cause it will look like the group is inactive, even though we really aren't! We're meeting and having events; we're just not that active at commenting. All our members will see is a list of RSVPs which is available on the calendar entry anyway!
Check out your Meetup Group's New view!
by MarkHello Meetup Organizers, Our mission at Meetup HQ is to see Meetups everywhere about everything. We want your Meetup Groups to be successful and have members be active and attending Meetups just as much as you do. To help you succeed, we've redesigned Meetup Groups to make it easi...
Thank goodness taking BPS classes counts!
Okay...
1) I take BPS classes - have taken quite a few of them!
2) I photograph digitally
3) I store my photos on my external hard drive (a new purchase to ensure I don't lose everything!)
4) I order my photos online
5) I'm constantly searching online for ideas and layouts and reading blogs and how-to sites...
6) I'm shopping for a laptop so I can download Photoshop Elements and start digitally scrapping - my goal is to have a laptop within the next couple of weeks!
Break out the Computer we're going to Scrapbook
Remember when we would take film into a store and wait a few days and see what developed. Depending on your age you might not have any idea what I am talking about, if so be happy and enjoy your youth! For the rest of us, including me, do you remember the joy of opening that envelope and ...
IF we're a fan of your videos???
LOVE them!
Ask away!
Happy Valentine's Day
Hope it is a good one for you all. We are celebrating Ken's birthday today, too (it is later this week) and so it is a fun day all around. It is especially on days like this that I feel extremely blessed to have such a fabulous husband. I am so thankful. So very thankful. And I just have a q...
Oh NO, you just KEEP ON talking about how good your man is! You know what's even better?
Reading your blog and just feeling the love come through your words, the love you have for him, his for you, and love your entire family shares.
THAT'S why I come here to read your blog - the scrappy, arty, photo-y, piano-y goodness is bonus!!!
Tetherball.
I grew up wanting to do three things with my life: 1. Learn to play the piano. 2. Become an olympic gymnast. (My event would have been the uneven bars.) 3. Become an olympic tetherball player. (Tetherball should totally be an olympic sport.) We were pretty broke when I was a kid so piano an...
LOVED this post! And don't you EVER apologize for writing a post about how much you and your husband love each other and how the two of you are setting the BEST example for your kids. This way they KNOW what a marriage should be: love and respect and appreciation and enjoyment of each other!
Friday Flowers.
Josh brings me flowers every Friday. When he first started, I was sure that it would be a temporary thing; a ritual he would eventually give up once his practical and frugal tendencies took back over. But five years later, I still get flowers every Friday. He's even scheduled Friday Flower del...
Okay, here goes:
1) Finish packing up donation bags
2) Call to arrange donation pick up ("stuff" out of the house! Yay!)
3) Decide whether we're buying a new furnace. (How cold will it be this weekend?!)
4) Laundry
5) Take my poor bare naked Christmas tree down (we've obviously not gotten to this yet!)
6) Watch the Super Bowl.
7) Food shopping for the week
8) Cook my turkey breast
What’s on Your To-Do List This Weekend?
It’s Friday again! Ahhh…Friday. I have really been looking forward to seeing you again. I am quite ready for a bit of R & R this weekend. I think I have finally gotten my sleep schedule (and home) back in order after being away last weekend. It’s always quite amazing to me how being gone for eve...
So I've blocked that person pretending to be you - I can't send them anything, they can't send me anything, they can't comment on my stuff, I won't comment on theirs - why would someone do something like that? Can you force flickr to remove them?
Not Me.
I just got an email (Thanks Jessie!) letting me know that someone started a flickr page using my name, my photo and my words (taken from my website) and is sending out friend invitations to join their group. Just wanted to say that this is NOT me - I don't even have a flickr account. But if ...
Tell you anything???
My mom is driving me NUTS right now!
Okay, you probably don't want to know something like THAT, so... hmmm...
I'm going to be 50 this year! And that is absolutely freakin' impossible! I still feel like I'm 18 in my head!
How's THAT?!?
GOventure : coincidence.
Nothing to share yet : But I am hoping to post photos and such from throughout the day. And if that doesn't work, I'll figure something else out. I don't know what I'm looking for or thinking about yet - maybe for a coincidence to happen. I have some fun errands to run though - my 15% off birth...
Love the Clip It Up!
I have a 2-tier set up but I use them for my alpha stickers.
Recently I pulled a bunch of alphas off and put them on binder rings 'cause I was going to a crop and wanted to bring a selection. That really seemed to work pretty well; I could just drop them all into some sort of carrying envelope or case.
So I might be converting my Clip It Up to stamps, too; I'm not 100% sure yet, but I'm going to give it a lot of thought!
Video: New Clear/Cling Stamp Storage System
Awhile back, I shared how I store my clear stamps in binders. (You can see the video HERE.) This system works very well and I highly recommend it. However, since I stamp a lot and have to quickly work on assignments, I needed something quicker to flip through. So... I came up with another sys...
Got my home kit - LOVE it!
Thanks, Elise!
out the door.
Have a great Thursday. I'm hoping to have more home kits available tomorrow afternoon. There will be a giveaway tomorrow morning and next week will be epic.
First I was going to say I'd write a romance 'cause that's the kind of book I love to read, but I think really, the first book I'd write would be my college memoirs. I went away to college at 16-1/2, after my junior year in high school (I USED to be smart!) and my parents were so very protective.
I can so remember the experience of college!
I'd love to put all those memories down so I don't ever forget them!
shop update + giveaways.
I just updated the shop with new home mini book kits, poppy gocco prints & US postcards. I will be sharing what I made with the home book kit on Monday - I'm excited about this one. And in the meantime, leave a comment on this post to be entered to win a poppy print OR a set of "bla...
I stayed away from fun things 'cause somehow I always seem to have 15 minutes to do THEM! Here are my not so fun suggestions:
1. Purge old coupons
2. Balance my checkbook
3. Match all those unmatched socks
4. Clean the bathtub
5. Make this week's shopping list
15 minutes (+ a giveaway).
Introducing my 15 minute project. I know someone, somewhere has already thought of this. But over the weekend, I thought of it too, and it motivated me. (In moments of inspiration, it helps to repeat after Auguste Rodin: I invent nothing; I rediscover.) I have a to-do list of little thing...
Small world - a friend of mine from years ago was living in Boone, NC - I think she's moved away since her divorce; we lost touch and really only see each other at a convention once every year or two... The cabin is gorgeous, though!
new years getaway...
for the past 4 years we have rented a cabin in the mountains over new years. usually we rent the same cabin, but this year we tried a new one. way up in the mountain in boone, nc. we have never had more than a flurry in past years. there wasn't but slush at the bottom of the mountain, but this...
LOVE that mattress organizer - the colors are AWESOME!!! Would love to make one! Any suggestions? Pattern? Fabrics?
Holiday wrap-up, 3-10.
With all the extra time I had not posting over the last two weeks, I decided to change my ten-best-of list for the holidays into ten favorite projects for the year not including things I've already posted (like this one and this one, both of which make me happy). Here goes: Baby girl station...
Tried some ATCs earlier in my scrapping career - would LOVE to make a mini collection - I have a scrapping day planned in a couple of weeks - might just have to include this project!

6. Stuff the stockings with care - STARTED STUFFING THEM BUT NEED SOME MORE "STUFF"
7. Finish Xmas cards - okay, THIS is the latest I've ever been!!! - DOUBLE OOPS.
Its Monday…how did you do?
Thanks so much to all of you who joined me in Finish It Friday this week. It was so motivating to me—and I needed all the extra motivation I could get because I got a cold on Friday. It came out of nowhere and knocked me off my feet Saturday and Sunday…and today I’m still moving quite a bit slow...
I absolutely LOVE the idea of leaving the poppies uncolored - as awesome as they look when colored in, this is such a different, striking card!
