Most everyone who has visited Bali has either heard of or been to the Mandala Wisata Wanara Wana, commonly known in English as the Sacred Monkey Forest. A popular tourist destination, the sanctuary is a 27-acre forested area consisting of a nature reserve and temple complex in the village of Padangtegal, located in Ubud, Bali. The forest's residences are its main claim to fame - hundreds of long-tailed Macaques that are dispersed throughout the park, occupying different territories within.
