For those of us on team Jacob, I am sure you are all very happy about the change in cast for him. I was very unhappy with the Twilight movie for many reasons however looking at the movie Jacob after lusting after the book Jacob ruined was the final straw for me. Perhaps this new and improved version will help my situation a bit.

I don’t think Gary talked him into staying. This is exactly what Jeff did last time. I think he stayed not because Gary talked him into staying, but because he didn’t want to pack his shit. I think he just got tired and when he realized he would have to work to get out of the program like he has to work to stay in the program he decided to stay. To me he seemed more annoyed at Gary than thankful for his support. That said, While Gary was extremely annoying his heart was in the right place. Even if I think Gary also wanted to help Jeff to help appease this narcissistic idea he is a “staff member” and not a patient, the intent was to help Jeff and that is good.

As a psychologist who is extremely open minded about this kind of issue, (I currently have a client who has “dreams about me that are strangely accurate in reference to my childhood and current attempts to get pregnant I do not believe this is what makes her mentally ill. It is her belief that her neighbors are stealing her mail, waiting to kidnap her 19 year old son, and that the county workers are tapping her phone that make her mentally ill. ), let me be clear that Gary is suffering from some type of mental illness. He packed his suitcase full of change and highlighters, he says whatever he is thinking appropriate or not. When talking, his thoughts are disjointed and bizarre. He has no impulse control. When talking with Tawny about her being bored, he did say to honk like a goose and went on to talk about bird calls. It was obvious Tawny was not interested and this did not register with Gary at all. Whether Gary is suffering from Aspergers, Bipolar or Schizophrenia, or a personality disorder, I am not sure, I do know that Depakote is a mood stabilizer drug and is effective for treating schizophrenia. This by no means takes away from the fact that maybe Gary did have an angel looking out for him that night on his motorcycle. But clearly he needs a full psychiatric workup and needs help. Gary is not blowing my mind; he is making me hope that he gets the help he needs. His sobriety is not safe. He was a mess on celebrity fit club and openly stated during his intake with Dr. Drew he is still smoking “medicinal” marijuana. This is not sobriety. Gary needs both help with his addictive personality and with his psychiatric needs. That being said, I do agree with you if Jesus was alive now he probably would be given lots of thorazine and other meds. I have often wondered how many wonderful artists we have medicated, and taken away of their creativity because of us overmedicating their mental health needs. We all know that people like Van Gough and Beethoven were quite mentally ill but contributed so much to our world. I wonder what we are missing out on now?

I can see why people took this rant as hate against Christians. I however preferred to look at it as hate against extremist groups and the refusal of some Christians and other religions to look at forming their own opinions and looking at issues not presented to them by their church that week. I also had to say I agree that this is really the last issue we should be concerned with when there are so many other pressing concerns...health care, more and more prevention programs being eliminated, lack of mental health care, the environment, the war…etc. Jennifer, I agree with you 100%! We defiantly need more separation between church and state. I am unsure why this is so difficult for the government but it is. IDK that is another issue for another day I think.

Baltimoregal, Grosse point blank is my favorite John Cusack move. Plus it has Joan in it who I heart big time. It is because of that movie that I made my now husband give me airplanes when we were first dating...he knew where it was from and that may be why I fell in love :)

REDNEXMAMA- I work with sex offenders and we don;t allow them to use the term date rape. We cite the exact same reasons you do. rape is rape and the term date rape lessons how awful it is. If anything we tell them it is worse b/c there was an extra element of trust that goes along with being on a date and when rape happens that higher level of trust is broken.

I just threw up a little bit in my mouth. That was awful!

You know, It's not the fish eating the dead skin that gags me but the thought of putting my feet in a communial pool with other peoples dead skin floating all over it ang fish pooping dead skin out in it is absolutly disgusting. How is that more sanitary than those metal scrapy things?
