Have your kids read Tin Tin? Callum homes to those when he's tired or stressed. The only comics he reads, really. Right now he's onto a biography of Patton for school. Yeah, you read that right. Oh well! Our too-big house revolves around just a few rooms, and that's okay with me. xo

Oh yes. My favorite part of skiing is the not-skiing that I do. Hands down.

What a wonderful tour and interview! I enjoyed seeing their home through your lens and questions so, so much. When I have a moment, probably tomorrow, I'll sign up onto HOUZZ and leave a comment there! Wonderful job, Julie! It makes me think things about my house, which is really nice.

I am SO behind on my flickr uploading. It's on my ginormous to-do list. My favorite of all these pictures you posted is that book with the leaf. So simple and so beautiful.

Oh, lovely post. Is this a walk you take every day? And what a sweet pup! Although you might not want to tell here that I thought she was a kitten from behind!

I read the most amazing book over the weekend called "Rules of Civility" by Amor Towels. It's about pre-WWII New York City. Just delightful. Anyway, sitting in a hotel room in Charlottesville, Virginia (very far away from New York City) at the very end of I read a sentence that immediately made me think of all of you. The main character is looking out her window at the skyline of the city: "It was still a view that practically conjugated hope. I have hoped; I am hoping; I will hope."

Beautiful table and a beautiful story! There is something so satisfying about sitting around the table...especially this one, brought to you by loving hands.

Oh, these are my very favorite kinds of posts. The behind the scenes look into people's lives and homes. I lovelovelove your living room. I'm in the middle of a living room re-do myself (almost there!), so I feel both the pleasure/pain of the process and the satisfaction of the completion. My struggle is similar...long narrow rooms play havoc with furniture placement! You've done a beautiful job. It's a serene, warm place. A wonderful welcome home.

I am grateful that you are here in this tiny spot of the Internet. Happy Thanksgiving, dear.

oh, and about that coat? One of my favorite lines from a book ("A Three Dog Life," you should read it, but maybe not right *now*) ever: "Shopping is hope for the future."

I love that: "It takes everything." Not much around us can do that, can it. Glad you have a place to go. xo

That one I can answer right now! Other changes may be afoot here, but the painting in the living room is done! I think.

Weeeeeeeeeel, aside from all the "e"s, (!) I think it's a gorgeous card! I love the juxtaposition of the tall trees against the fat and happy Christmas tree and the sweet deer. Keep fiddling, you'll get it!
