Great post, Donna! :) I gasped when I saw how many grams of fat where in the cheesecake and it got worst with the burger and shake. What's sad is that it made me kind of hungry :o) Well, since it's WIW, I'll weigh in. I have bad and good news. The bad news is that I haven't been exercising much the past 2 weeks - I've been waaaay too busy working. The good news is that I've lost 4 pounds. I guess I've been so busy working I haven't had time to snack.

Hi girls! I wasn't so good the past few days. I skipped exercising 2 days in a row, and this morning I baked chocolate croissants for the kids and, of course, I ended up eating one too. At times like this I tend to throw in the towel for the rest of the day but I will try to resist doing that today. And I WILL exercise today! <-- I'm putting that in writing so it holds me accountable. ONE hour of excercise today. This time of year, I love eating watermelon.

Well, mine is the same story as the past 2 weeks: good at the exercising part, bad at the eating part. I did better today so hopefully I will continue eating well through the weekend and into next week. What motivates me? The thing that motivates me each day is knowing that I exercised the day before and/or that I ate well the day before. What doesn't motivate me is when I get on the scale and realize that I haven't made any progress (sigh). I'll just keep trying :)

Hi Donna, good job running!! Keep it up! Tell Zach to get on your case if you try to squirm out of running. I tell my kids to remind me to exercise and they are really good at keeping me honest :) Hi sweet tooth Anne! Our brilliant friend, Johanna Peterson, had those wonderful tips and recipes (Yay, Johanna, great info!). And it's true, I've had Jo's cake and it it sooo good!! I honestly never would have known it was low cal until she told me. It's light and yummy!! Jo, the idea of replacing oil with vanilla yogurt is great! I need to do that more often. The kids and I love eating Trader Joe's No Pudge Fat-free brownies. It's made using non-fat vanilla yogurt, and it saves me when I'm in the mood for something chocolate and gooey. Top it with low- or nonfat vanilla ice cream and you'll be a happy camper! Okay, it's time for me to weigh in. This week was like last week. I did pretty good on the exercising (at least every other day) but I could definitely improve in the area of eating. I love food and not very good at portion control. You know how a bag of chips will say it has 3 servings? Well, I'll eat the whole bag (who really eats just 12 chips anyway? LOL!). I'm going to try and do better this week with the eating.

Great tips, Jo!! I am definitely going to start incorporating those ideas into my life. I like butter (and mayo) too much :o) I'm going to try Susan's quinoa recipe and your onion ring recipe too (thanks girls!). And Dayami suggested I try jogging (thanks Dayami!). Dayami, since I love music so much, I like your idea to put on the headphones and start running. I'll try fast walking and work up to running :) And since I'll have the music pretty loud, I won't hear myself panting out breath, LOL! Walking/jogging will add variety to my current workouts (aerobics and step aerobics with DVDs) I've been pretty good about exercising this past week. I've worked out 4 times; though, I only got to 45 minutes twice. Even though it's slow going, I'm determined to get stronger and more in shape. As far as eating goes, I'd give myself a B- at best. I still need to watch what I'm eating at night. Rob and I like to snack at night while we watch anime together, so I need to find some yummy healthy treats for us to munch on instead. I want Rob to like tha snacks too so if anyone has any good ideas for yummy healthy snacks, please share :) Thanks!!

OHHH Caralyn :( You will be in my thoughts and in my prayers. From time to time I have back or ankle pain (I'm sure it's nothing that compares remotely yours) but even that is enough to keep me from exercising and can make me feel down. Let's be here for each other. I know WE can all reach our goals if we take baby steps, support each other, and NEVER give up. Thinking and praying for you :)

Hi S. Payan, great idea about eating the fruit. I really should eat more fruit (and veggies). I usually get my serving of vegetables when I eat a hamburger :o)

Okay, I'm going to weigh in first. I'm off to a pretty good start. Last weekend, I worked out for 30 minutes on each day. I also worked out 20 minutes on Tuesday. I haven't done anything today yet but I'm hoping to exercise tonight. Since I don't have time to go to the gym (every minute counts for me; a 15 minute drive to the gym and a 15 minute drive back is 30 minutes that I could be working) so I excercise at home. I use an aerobics DVD called "Slim in 6" and I use a step aerobics DVD (can't remember the name but it's with Kathy somebody and Gin somebody, LOL!). In any case, I still need to get a solid 45 minutes. Maybe tonight will be the night :) As far as eating goes, last weekend was bad bad, but I've been pretty good today: I had a Trader Joes 5-seed almond bar for breakfast (love those - they taste like gingerbread) and a lowfat Lean Cuisine for lunch (didn't love that so I need to go to the grocery and find better lowcal meals). I'm sending out positive healthy vibes to all those who are joining in on this :)
