Joseph Campbell said that our mythology no longer comes from the past. Our modern mythology is created out of stories about the future. Avatar is an allegory about ourselves. It is a story about where we are heading if we stick to our materialistic ways and the homogeneity of globalism we will destroy local culture and nature.
