I think M.F.K. Fisher is the grande dame of this genre, and I often re read her books. I've loved Laurie Colwin's writing for many years, including Home Cooking and More Home Cooking. I still have a collection of her column clipped from Gourmet magazines! - and was so sad to hear of her sudden death.
