Hi Erin! Thank you! I don’t have a pattern for them, it is just something that I create from memory by hand!
Wallflowers in Aqua & Red
New Aqua & Red Wallflowers!! This fun new version of Wallflowers is now in the shop!! I really love this color combination. I was inspired to act on my prior confession of loving aqua and red together! I'm going to make some more of these two-toned Wallflowers. Any suggesti...

Thanks Amanda!! (and sorry it took so long to reply! I swear I did, but then it wasn't here?!). There is certainly no harm in thinking through your parenting philosophies even before you become a parent! It always feels good to feel prepared. And once you DO become a parent, you're right to go on what feels right, and ignore what doesn't. That is the only way to do it!!
I'm Proud of You
In various places (books, blog articles, etc.) on the topic of praise, I have come across the criticism and the discussion of praise vs. encouragement in children. When I read the explanation, I totally get it. It makes sense not just to speak to children in this way but to people in general....
EXACTLY!!!! Wow thanks for sharing your stories and experiences with me!! I felt so good after reading your comment. That's exactly how I feel. I think the praise critics are pointing their fingers at the extremes of "wow i'm so proud of you for being so smart" that can ruin a kid. I get that. I knew that before reading "the books". I guess I can go with my gut on this since I know it's right! I have always tried hard to make my parents proud...but, I want Luna to work toward goals that make her proud of herself! Thanks so much for weighing in on this, it was great to hear your perspective!!

Thank you! You can find the pattern in this book: http://www.amazon.com/Last-Minute-Patchwork-Quilted-Joelle-Hoverson/dp/1584796340
Maybe you can order it, since you can't find it in your library! Best of luck stitching your own!! The patchwork is actuallly just a fabric print, not stitching and patchwork!! Cheating :). haha
Patchwork Pippi
This week Evan and I went to the eye doctor to pick up his new glasses, which happens to be right by the library. I realized that I have not been into a library or checked out books since.. well, I guess since college 2 years ago - but even then it was only because I had to. I haven't done it ...

A Year of Giving: Food
This month, let's focus on giving one of the most basic necessities of life - food. Most of us are lucky enough to have plenty of it, or even excessive amounts of it! It is so easy for us to get healthy food whenever we want it. Even though we shop on a budget, we are able to get all we need...
:) Yes! I think taking advice and then using it with moderation is probably a better way to go about things when it comes to all the books. I think if our intentions are good then were doing it right! :)

Life With an 8 Month Old
I can't believe I have an 8 month old baby! She does so many things now that make me think "kid" when I see her do them! Things like reaching out to hold my hand intentionally, or gently patting me, or getting mad when I set her down so that I can go to the bathroom or do something else neces...

Yes...she was so unhappy when she had to just lay on her tummy! She was just mad that she could not DO things! Now that she is up and cruising around, she cries so much less! She will be a brilliantly happy kid once she is running and exploring. I can feel it. The schedule I started with certainly wasnt perfect for her but it did give me a nice starting point. I knew it wouldnt fit her since she isnt a normal baby (you know how it is!). Also... OMG you officially have a toddler today!!!!!!!!!! Aaaaaaah!

I do sew less now that I have a little one crawling around! But yes, sewing, embroidery, etc is my thing! You should dust off that machine! :) What inspires me about Iceland? OH everything I think! The landscape, the buildings (new and old), and it just seems like it has its own unique personality and culture that I would love to experience. That and Norway are my dream destinations! I am so jealous youre going!!! Well not jealous, just really excited for you - I am going to need to live through you - please share your photos!!! :)
The Designer
In need of an update here, aren't we!? Soon to come: update on where we live, what I do for work, my life as a mother to baby Luna, my husband's job, my camera gear, and what is going on with my etsy shop! Hi! You're curious about me? Ok, well I'll fill you in on everything... My name is Meg...
