So, do the colors of the cubes correspond to different weights of yarn? To different colors of yarn? To age of stash? Lots of organizing possibilities!
There's a Place For Yarn...
While Mom and Dad were visiting me for Memorial Day, Mom and I went through (part of) my yarn stash, and helped me divest myself of some of it. They took a bunch of leftover baby yarn and some Lion Brand Homespun and some other odds and ends - mostly from my early days of re-emergence as a knit...
So, how's the progress going? We're getting closer to the halfway mark for the year.
Knitting Goals for 2011
I have one big knitting goal for 2011 - at the end of 2011, any currently unfinished object will be either finished or frogged. That's not to say that I can't have other, yet-to-be-started projects that are unfinished when we roll into 2012, but nothing current. Which leaves me with the followin...
Hmmm. The pictures make me want to knit another pair of Cedar Dancing socks. But you can keep the book until Christmas. Then we will negotiate...
Beautiful (Not-)Christmas Socks
Two posts about finished objects in one week! Wow, I impress myself. Less so when I remember that these are past finished projects I never posted about. Still, a post is a post! Last Fall, Lisa went with Mom and Dad and Aunt P on a cruise to New England and Canada. I was invited, but chose t...
Very nice! It looks like the work in attaching the ruffles was worth it! I hope you agree.
Flo!
Finally! Done after too-many-months to-count but all well-worth the effort! I so love Kim Hargreaves designs but the finishing for this piece really kills. I think you're tired of the WIP photos by now. The fit is great (I made the smallest size). Although you might still see some bagginess in...
Number 2 looks just a little more gray than the light color in the sweater on my monitor, so I vote for number 4 (unless in real life number 2 is not as gray as I think, in which case I like number 2 the best). I do like the purple yarn, irrespective of grayness or beigeness!
Cream Nani iro Top and some knitting
I finished this top yesterday. The pattern is #1 from this book. ISBN 978-4579111497. Inspired by this and this. The neckline turned out super wide, wearable but I'll have to keep watching at my shoulders. I might just undo the binding and add a pleat at the back neck like the top in the secon...
I like both the vest and the scarf. So where does the double line above the ribbing hit you in relation to your waist?
And I must admit I like the dog, too! But no dog pictures?
Celebrations
The beginning of August marks several celebrations in my house. Yesterday was Morgen's birthday. She is now 7. We celebrated with a greenie (I opened it and she ate it - I thought that was a fair division of labor.) Next Wednesday is Mom's birthday. Though she won't be here, I'll still cele...
I would like to point out that although my "sock yarn box" in my yarn closet is currently full, I just bought some new storage containers for the top of the dresser in my craft room, so there is plenty of room for sock yarn storage chez moi.
Missing Person?
No, contrary to the evidence, I am not a missing person. Since I last posted (far too long ago), I have: Applied for, interviewed for, got and started a great new job Had my roof replaced Music directed a very sucessful production of Gypsy after almost eight years away from music direction Rehe...
