I'm thinking of doing the same - I'm comparing book lists to narrow down which ones to read this year. Renovare just published a book of the 25 best Christian books to read, so I'm using that as well as an older book - Great Books of the Christian Tradition by Terry Glaspey (his is more comprehensive and also has a section for classics and children's books).

Great post! From one rookie homeschool mom to another (just had our 2-year anniversary), glad to hear you're continuing the adventure :)

I had just been thinking that the start of the new school year is what feels like the new year to me, so how funny to come here and read that same thought, in addition to so many other good ones :)
This is the first time I read this. I had no idea. I am so sorry. I can't even begin to imagine. Two years later, you've had a blink of time to begin healing--praying for God to keep soothing your heart and strengthen you for the life ahead.

It looks wonderful! I just printed out coloring sheets for my girls, and I know I'll be dowloading more. Thank you :)
What fun! Building special memories, too. I love the food picture :)
The right margin is cut off, but I could read enough to know that your adventure sounds like heaven! Looking forward to what you post when you check in or when you return. What a wonderful perspective you have...as always :)
I tweeted, blogged, and Facebook'd it! I'll send the email to your secretary now... http://www.literarymom.com/5/post/2010/04/seasons-of-a-mothers-heart.html
Wonderful post! I recently read an excellent book, "Can Christianity Cure Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder?", written by a Christian psychiatrist who profiles three giants of the faith who had OCD: Luther, Bunyan, and Therese de Lisieux. I highly recommend it (it's on Amazon).
