On Friday and Saturday, June 14-5, 2019, the New Hampshire Institute for Civics Education (“NHICE”) will screen To Kill a Mockingbird as part of a multi-year statewide program designed to foster conversations with the public on law, justice, and civics. The screening will take place Friday, June 14 at 7 pm and the Antrim Town Hall. Then on Saturday, June 15 there will be a discussion open the film at 10 am at the Peterborough Town Library. A light snack will be provided. The program was made possible with support from New Hampshire Humanities, in partnership with the National Endowment for the Humanities. Continue reading

Following the video, Dr. Andrew Jordan, a Research Scientist at UNH, will answer visitor questions about the episode! Jordan holds a Ph.D. from Boston University. He is a research scientist at the Institute for the Study of Earth, Oceans, and Space at the University of New Hampshire. He is a member of the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter team and currently studies how energetic charged particles affected lunar soil and water ice. Created in 2001 in memory of Alex Higgins of Bedford, NH, by Alex’s family in collaboration with the Discovery Center and NH Charitable Foundation, the Alex Higgins Memorial Space Camp Scholarship provides full tuition, room and board for a week of simulated astronaut training at the U.S. Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, AL, to three New Hampshire students each year.
